Abstract
Eine Brennstoffpumpe (1) für eine Brennstoffeinspritzanlage von luftverdichtenden, selbstzündenden Brennkraftmaschinen weist ein erstes Pumpenteil (2) mit einer Zahnradpumpe und einen zweiten Pumpenteil (3) auf. Dabei ist der erste Pumpenteil (2) von dem zweiten Pumpenteil (3) mittels eines Gehäuseteils (16) getrennt, wobei eine Pumpenwelle (15) durch eine Öffnung (22) in den Gehäuseteil (16) ragt. In der Öffnung (22) ist ein Wellendichtring (31) angeordnet, der den ersten Pumpenteil (2) gegenüber dem zweiten Pumpenteil (3) abdichtet. Dadurch genügt es, dass der erste Pumpenteil (2) mit einer Abdeckung (7) abgedeckt ist, so dass ein Deckel für das erste Pumpenteil (2) entfallen kann.

Stand der Technik
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Brennstoffpumpe, insbesondere eine Pumpenanordnung mit einer Außenzahnradpumpe. Speziell betrifft die Erfindung das Gebiet der Brennstoffeinspritzanlagen von luftverdichtenden, selbstzündenden Brennkraftmaschinen.
Aus der DE 197 36 160 Al ist eine Pumpenanordnung zur Brennstoffhochdruckversorgung bei Brennstoffeinspritzsystemen von Brennkraftmaschinen bekannt. Die bekannte Pumpenanordnung eignet sich besonders für ein Common-Rail-Einspritzsystem. Die bekannte Pumpenanordnung weist eine Radialkolbenpumpe mit einer in einem Pumpengehäuse gelagerten Antriebswelle und eine der Radialkolbenpumpe vorgeschaltete Niederdruckpumpe auf. Die Abdichtung zwischen der als Zahnradpumpe ausgestalteten Niederdruckpumpe und der Radialkolbenpumpe nach außen erfolgt über Dichtringe, wobei im Bereich des Antriebstrangs zwischen der Zahnradpumpe der Radialkolbenpumpe keine zusätzliche Abdichtung vorgesehen ist, da die interne Schmierung der Radialkolbenpumpe über das geförderte Medium Brennstoff erfolgt. Dadurch erfolgt eine Leckage im Bereich des Antriebsstrangs aus der Zahnradpumpe in das Innere der Radialkolbenpumpe.
Die aus der DE 197 36 160 Al bekannte Pumpenanordnung hat den Nachteil, dass ein Gehäusedeckel für die Niederdruckpumpe erforderlich ist, der so mit dem Gehäuse der Radialkolbenpumpe verbunden sein muss, dass eine zuverlässige Dichtwirkung gegeben ist. Der Aufbau der bekannten Pumpenanordnung ist daher relativ aufwändig.
Offenbarung der Erfindung
Die erfindungsgemäße Brennstoffpumpe mit den Merkmalen des Anspruchs 1 hat den Vorteil, dass der Aufbau der Brennstoffpumpe vereinfacht ist. Speziell kann die
Abdichtung des ersten Pumpenteils mit der Zahnradpumpe vereinfacht werden.
Durch die in den Unteransprüchen aufgeführten Maßnahmen sind vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen der im Anspruch 1 angegebenen Brennstoffpumpe möglich.
Vorteilhaft ist es, dass der zweite Pumpenteil als Hochdruckpumpenteil ausgestaltet ist, dass der zweite Pumpenteil ein Hochdruckpumpengehäuse aufweist und dass das Hochdruckpumpengehäuse den Gehäuseteil, der den ersten Pumpenteil von dem zweiten Pumpenteil trennt, umfasst. Dabei kann der Hochdruck-Pumpenteil eine Radialkolbenpumpe aufweisen, der der Zahnradpumpe des ersten Pumpenteils vorgeschaltet ist. Der erste Pumpenteil kann dabei auf relativ einfache Weise an dem zweiten Pumpenteil angebracht werden, beispielsweise können ein oder mehrere Stifte oder dergleichen vorgesehen sein, mittels der der erste Pumpenteil zum Hochdruck- Pumpengehäuse des zweiten Pumpenteils zentriert wird. Dabei sind die Anforderungen an die Dichtheit reduziert, wobei ein Deckel des ersten Pumpenteils entfallen kann. Der erste Pumpenteil kann beispielsweise mit einem relativ einfach ausgestalteten Gehäuseteil umgeben sein, das mit dem Hochdruck-Pumpengehäuse verbunden wird.
In vorteilhafter Weise liegt der Wellendichtring an seiner Außenseite an einer Innenfläche der Öffnung, die in dem die beiden Pumpenteile voneinander trennenden Gehäuseteil vorgesehen ist, an. Die Innenfläche der Öffnung ist dabei vorzugsweise zylindermantelförmig ausgebildet, so dass diese in Umfangsrichtung eine gleichmäßige Krümmung aufweist und ein flächiges, insbesondere vollflächiges, Anliegen des Wellendichtrings an der zylindermantelförmigen Innenfläche der Öffnung ermöglicht ist. Dadurch wird eine hohe Dichtwirkung im Bereich zwischen der Innenfläche der Öffnung und der Außenseite des Wellendichtrings erzielt.
Ferner ist es vorteilhaft, dass der Wellendichtring an seiner Innenseite eine zumindest im Wesentlichen kreislinienförmige Dichtkante aufweist und dass der Wellendichtring mit seiner kreislinienförmigen Dichtkante an der Pumpenwelle anliegt. Dadurch wird auch bei relativ hohen Drehzahlen der Pumpenwelle eine zuverlässige Abdichtung im Bereich zwischen der Innenseite des Wellendichtrings und der Pumpenwelle erzielt. Dabei ist es außerdem von Vorteil, dass ein Spannelement vorgesehen ist, das die kreislinienförmige Dichtkante des Wellendichtrings umfänglich gegen die Pumpenwelle presst. Das Spannelement spannt dadurch den Wellendichtring in Bezug auf die Pumpenwelle, so dass eine hohe Anpresskraft in radialer Richtung an die Pumpenwelle erzielt wird, die eine hohe Dichtwirkung ermöglicht. Das Spannelement kann beispielsweise als Spannring
ausgestaltet sein, der elastisch aufgeweitet in den Wellendichtring integriert ist. Der Spannring kann beispielsweise aus einem Metallring gebildet sein.
Der erste Pumpenteil kann neben einem oder mehreren Zahnrädern auch weitere Elemente aufweisen. Beispielsweise kann der erste Pumpenteil eine Kupplung aufweisen, wobei das Zahnrad mittels der Kupplung mit der Pumpenwelle in Wirkverbindung steht. Die Ausgestaltung der Pumpenwelle ist an den jeweiligen Anwendungsfall angepasst. Beispielsweise kann die Pumpenwelle als Polygonwelle oder als Nockenwelle ausgestaltet sein.
Kurze Beschreibung der Zeichnungen
Bevorzugte Ausführungsbeispiele der Erfindung sind in der nachfolgenden Beschreibung anhand der beigefügten Zeichnungen, in denen sich entsprechende Elemente mit übereinstimmenden Bezugszeichen versehen sind, näher erläutert. Es zeigt:

Ausführungsformen der Erfindung
Fig. 1 zeigt eine Brennstoffpumpe 1 in einer seitlichen Ansicht entsprechend einem ersten Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung. Die Brennstoffpumpe 1 kann insbesondere als Pumpenanordnung mit einer Außenzahnradpumpe für Brennstoffeinspritzanlagen von luftverdichtenden, selbstzündenden Brennkraftmaschinen ausgestaltet sein. Ein bevorzugter Einsatz der Brennstoffpumpe 1 besteht für eine Brennstoffeinspritzanlage mit einer Brennstoffverteilerleiste, einem sogenannten Common-Rail, das Dieselbrennstoff unter hohem Druck speichert. Die erfindungsgemäße Brennstoffpumpe 1 eignet sich jedoch auch für andere Anwendungsfälle.
Die Brennstoffpumpe 1 weist einen ersten Pumpenteil 2 und einen zweiten Pumpenteil 3 auf. Dabei liegt in der dargestellten Seitenansicht der zweite Pumpenanteil hinter dem ersten Pumpenteil 2 und ist teilweise von dem ersten Pumpenteil 2 verdeckt. An dem zweiten Pumpenteil 3 ist ein Ansaugstutzen 4 vorgesehen, über den Brennstoff aus einem
Tank oder dergleichen zugeführt werden kann. Von dem Ansaugstutzen 4 gelangt der Brennstoff durch das zweite Pumpenteil 3 zunächst zu einer in dem ersten Pumpenteil 2 vorgesehenen Zahnradpumpe, die einer in dem zweiten Pumpenteil 3 vorgesehenen Hochdruckpumpe vorgeschaltet ist. Das erste Pumpenteil 2 hat deshalb die Funktion einer Niederdruckpumpe, während das zweite Pumpenteil 3 hauptsächlich die Funktion einer Hochdruckpumpe hat. Die Hochdruckpumpe des zweiten Pumpenteils 3 kann insbesondere als Radialkolbenpumpe ausgestaltet sein.
Der erste Pumpenteil 2 weist Zahnräder 5, 6 auf, deren Position in der Fig. 1 durch unterbrochen dargestellte Linien veranschaulicht ist. Dabei sind die Zahnräder 5, 6 von einer Abdeckung 7 abgedeckt, die an Fixpunkten 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D mit einem Hochdruckpumpengehäuse 9 des zweiten Pumpenteils 3 verbunden ist. Die Abdeckung 7 hat vorzugsweise im Wesentlichen die Funktion, die Zahnräder 5, 6 und gegebenenfalls weitere Komponenten des ersten Pumpenteils 2 abzudecken. Die Abdeckung 7 weist allerdings keine besonderen Dichtmittel auf und ist auch in Bezug auf die Befestigung an dem Hochdruckpumpengehäuse 9 mit keiner besonderen Dichtung versehen. Die Abdeckung 7 ist insbesondere nicht als Deckel ausgestaltet. Somit kann die Abdeckung 7 einfach hergestellt werden. Das erste Pumpenteil 2 ist somit deckellos ausgeführt und somit ebenfalls kostengünstig herzustellen.
In der Fig. 1 ist außerdem die Position einer Pumpenwelle 15 dargestellt, die durch eine unterbrochen gezeichnete Linie veranschaulicht ist.
Fig. 2 zeigt einen auszugsweisen Schnitt durch die in Fig. 1 dargestellte Brennstoffpumpe 1 entlang der mit Il bezeichneten Schnittlinie. Die Abdeckung 7 ist an dem Fixierpunkt 8B mit einem Gehäuseteil 16 des Hochdruckpumpengehäuses 9 des zweiten Pumpenteils 3 verbunden. Die Verbindung kann beispielsweise mittels einer Schraube erfolgen. Das Gehäuseteil 16 ist in diesem Ausführungsbeispiel Bestandteil des zweiten Pumpenteils 3. Das Gehäuseteil 16 trennt den ersten Pumpenteil 2 von dem zweiten Pumpenteil 3. Dabei ist das Gehäuseteil 16 im Wesentlichen zwischen den Pumpenteilen 2, 3 der Brennstoffpumpe 1 angeordnet.
An der Abdeckung 7 ist ein Lagerzapfen 17 ausgebildet, der eine Lagerfläche 18 aufweist. An der Lagerfläche 18 ist ein Zahnrad 19 gelagert, das mit einem weiteren Zahnrad 20 im Eingriff steht, um eine Zahnradpumpe zu bilden.
Die Pumpenwelle 15 der Brennstoffpumpe 1 ist innerhalb des zweiten Pumpenteils 3
gelagert und axial zu dem Zahnrad 19 ausgerichtet. Im Betrieb der Brennstoffpumpe 1 wird die Pumpenwelle 15 angetrieben, so dass diese um eine Achse 21 rotiert. Die Pumpenwelle 15 ragt durch eine Öffnung 22 in den Gehäuseteil 16. Dabei ragt die Pumpenwelle 15 teilweise in einen an das Gehäuseteil 16 angrenzenden, von der Abdeckung 7 begrenzten Raum 23 des ersten Pumpenteils 2. In dem Raum 23 ist außerdem eine Kupplung 24 angeordnet. Ein beispielsweise als Zweiflach ausgestaltetes Ende 25 der Pumpenwelle 15 ist auf geeignete Weise mit der Kupplung 24 verbunden, so dass über die Kupplung 24 eine Wirkverbindung zwischen der Pumpenwelle 15 und dem Zahnrad 19 besteht. Das Ende 25 der Pumpenwelle 15 befindet sich zumindest im Wesentlichen in dem Raum 23 des ersten Pumpenteils 2.
An dem Gehäuseteil 16 ist eine zumindest im Wesentlichen zylindermantelförmige Innenfläche 30 der Öffnung 22 ausgebildet. Die Achse 21 der Pumpenwelle 15 ist zumindest im Wesentlichen zentrisch zu der zylindermantelförmigen Innenfläche 30 orientiert. In der Öffnung 22 ist ein Wellendichtring 31 angeordnet, der in Umfangsrichtung betrachtet, ein auf einer Seite geöffnetes Profil aufweist. In diesem Ausführungsbeispiel ist das Profil zu dem zweiten Pumpenteil 3 hin geöffnet. Der Wellendichtring 31 ist so ausgestaltet, dass eine zumindest im Wesentlichen zylindermantelförmige Außenfläche 32 des Wellendichtrings 31 ausgebildet ist. Der Wellendichtring 31 liegt an dieser Außenfläche 32 flächig an der zylindermantelförmigen Innenfläche 30 der Öffnung 22 an, so dass eine zuverlässige Dichtwirkung im Bereich zwischen der Außenfläche 32 des Wellendichtrings 31 und der Innenfläche 30 der Öffnung 22 gegeben ist.
Ferner weist der Dichtring im Profil ein zur Pumpenwelle 15 gerichtetes, dreieckförmiges Innenstück 33 auf. Das Innenstück 33 des Wellendichtrings 31 ist so ausgestaltet, dass eine kreislinienförmige Dichtkante 34 an dem Wellendichtring 31 vorgesehen ist, an der ein Kontakt zwischen dem Wellendichtring 31 und der Pumpenwelle 15 besteht. Somit liegt der Wellendichtring 31 an der kreislinienförmigen Dichtkante 34 umfänglich an der Pumpenwelle 15 an. Ferner weist der Wellendichtring 31 ein als Spannring ausgestaltetes Spannelement 35 auf, das in den im Profil betrachtet einseitig geöffneten Wellendichtring 31 eingesetzt ist. Das Spannelement 35 kann beispielsweise aus einem Metallring gebildet sein. Das Spannelement 35 wird beim Einbringen in den Wellendichtring 31 elastisch vorgespannt, wobei im montierten Zustand, der in der Fig. 2 dargestellt ist, weiterhin eine gewisse Vorspannung des Spannelements 35 des Wellendichtrings 31 besteht. Somit wird durch die Vorspannung des Spannelements 35 die Dichtkante 34 an dem Innenstück 33 des Wellendichtrings 31 gegen die Pumpenwelle 15 gepresst. Dadurch ergibt sich eine zuverlässige Abdichtung zwischen dem Wellendichtring 31 und
der Pumpenwelle 15 im Bereich der Dichtkante 34.
Somit erzeugt der Wellendichtring 31 sowohl im Bereich seiner Außenfläche 32 zu dem Gehäuseteil 16 hin als auch im Bereich seiner Dichtkante 34 zu der Pumpenwelle 15 hin eine zuverlässige Dichtwirkung. Der Wellendichtring 31 dichtet daher den zweiten Pumpenteil 3 zuverlässig gegenüber dem ersten Pumpenteil 2 ab. Somit tritt keine oder höchstens eine geringfügige Leckage von dem zweiten Pumpenteil 3 in den Raum 23 des ersten Pumpenteils 2 auf. Dies ermöglicht, dass der erste Pumpenteil 2 dichtungsfrei ausgestaltet ist, speziell dass der erste Pumpenteil 2 deckellos ausgestaltet ist. Daher genügt eine Abdeckung des ersten Pumpenteils 2 mit der Abdeckung 7.
Die Pumpenwelle 15 kann als Polygonwelle oder als Nockenwelle ausgestaltet sein.
Die Brennstoffpumpe 1 des Ausführungsbeispiels der Erfindung hat den Vorteil, dass der Wellendichtring 31 in die Öffnung 22 des Gehäuseteils 16 integriert ist. Der Wellendichtring 31 kann dabei im Wesentlichen aus einem elastischen Material gebildet sein, beispielsweise einem elastischen Kunststoff, wobei das Spannelement 35 des Wellendichtrings 31 vorzugsweise aus einem metallischen Material gebildet ist.
Die Erfindung ist nicht auf die beschriebenen Ausführungsbeispiele beschränkt.
Claims
1. Brennstoffpumpe (1), insbesondere Pumpenanordnung mit einer Außenzahnradpumpe für Brennstoffeinspritzanlagen von luftverdichtenden, selbstzündenden Brennkraftmaschinen, mit einem ersten Pumpenteil (2), der eine Zahnradpumpe aufweist, und zumindest einem zweiten Pumpenteil (3), wobei der erste Pumpenteil (2) von dem zweiten Pumpenteil (3) mittels zumindest eines Gehäuseteils (16) getrennt ist und wobei eine Pumpenwelle (15) durch eine Öffnung (22) in dem Gehäuseteil (16) ragt, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass in der Öffnung (22) ein Wellendichtring (31) angeordnet ist, der den ersten Pumpenteil (2) gegenüber dem zweiten Pumpenteil (3) abdichtet.
2. Brennstoffpumpe nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der zweite Pumpenteil (3) als Hochdruck-Pumpenteil ausgestaltet ist, dass der zweite Pumpenteil (3) ein Hochdruckpumpengehäuse (9) aufweist und dass das Hochdruckpumpengehäuse (9) den Gehäuseteil (16), der den ersten Pumpenteil (2) von dem zweiten Pumpenteil (3) trennt, umfasst.
3. Brennstoffpumpe nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Wellendichtring (31) eine Außenfläche (32) aufweist und dass der Wellendichtring (31) an seiner Außenfläche (32) zumindest mittelbar an einer Innenfläche (30) der Öffnung (22) anliegt.

Brennstoffpumpe nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Innenfläche (30) der Öffnung (22), an der der Wellendichtring (31) mit seiner Außenfläche (32) anliegt, zumindest im Wesentlichen zylindermantelförmig ausgebildet ist und dass der Wellendichtring (31) flächig an der zylindermantelförmigen Innenfläche (30) der Öffnung (22) anliegt.

Brennstoffpumpe nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Wellendichtring (31) an einem Innenstück (33) eine zumindest im Wesentlichen kreislinienförmige Dichtkante (34) aufweist und dass der Wellendichtring (31) mit seiner kreislinienförmigen Dichtkante (34) an der Pumpenwelle (15) anliegt.

Brennstoffpumpe nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Wellendichtring (31) ein Spannelement (35), insbesondere einen Spannring, aufweist und dass das Spannelement (35) das Innenstück (33) des Wellendichtrings (31) mit der kreislinienförmigen Dichtkante (34) umfänglich gegen die Pumpenwelle (15) presst.
7. Brennstoffpumpe nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Wellendichtring (31) ein einseitig geöffnetes Profil aufweist und dass das Spannelement (35) unter einer Vorspannung in den Wellendichtring (31) eingesetzt ist.
8. Brennstoffpumpe nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der erste Pumpenteil (2) zumindest im Wesentlichen dichtungsfrei ausgestaltet ist.
9. Brennstoffpumpe nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der erste Pumpenteil (2) deckellos ausgestaltet ist.
10. Brennstoffpumpe nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der erste Pumpenteil (2) eine Kupplung (24) und zumindest ein Zahnrad (19) aufweist, wobei das Zahnrad (19) mittels der Kupplung (24) mit der Pumpenwelle (15) in Wirkverbindung steht.
