Abstract

The present invention relates to a ship's hatch for sealing an opening in at least one deck to a hold of a ship, such as a seagoing vessel, wherein the hatch is provided with: - a composite structure provided with at least one substantially fibre-reinforced plastic layer; - mounting means for mounting the hatch on the ship; and - sealing means for substantially watertight sealing of the opening to the hold.
