Abstract

 本発明は、色純度のよい白色光を発生させることができる長寿命の白色発光素子を提供する。本発明は、対向する電極3,4と、EL発光する有機材料及び/又は無機ナノ粒子を有する発光層Aと、PL発光する無機ナノ粒子を有する発光層Bと、発光層Aで発生した光を素子内部で共振させる対向する反射層5,6とを有し、発光層Aで発生した光と発光層Bで発生した光によって白色光が形成される白色発光素子であって、前記対向する電極3,4のうち、一方の電極又はその電極に隣接する層が、全反射機能を有し且つ前記反射層の一方の層として形成され、他方の電極又は該電極に隣接する層が、半透明反射機能を有し且つ前記反射層の他方の層として形成されているように構成して、上記課題を解決した。
