Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Auftragen von Beschichtungen auf Oberflächen von Substraten in Form von Papier, Karton oder Kunststoffolien, vorzugsweise zur Veredelung von Druckerzeugnissen. Die Vorrichtung umfasst eine Beschichtungseinheit zum Auftragen von Beschichtungsmaterial in fluider Form auf die Substratoberfläche, sowie eine Einrichtung zur Glättung des auf die Substratoberfläche mittels der Beschichtungseinheit aufgetragenen, noch fluiden Films, wobei die Einrichtung eine Einrichtung zur Erzeugung eines Gasstroms umfasst, welcher auf die mit dem Film beschichtete Substratoberfläche gerichtet ist und den Film unter zumindest teilweiser Beseitigung von unerwünschten Strukturen der Filmoberfläche, wie Vertiefungen, Erhöhungen und Kratern vor der Aushärtung des Beschichtungsmaterials glättet.
