Description

Vorrichtung zum Stellen und Legen des Mastes eines Segelbootes Beschreibung Device for placing and placing the mast of a sailboat Description
The invention relates to a device for placing and placing the mast of a sailboat, which can also be used while driving through the water.
From GB 1 315 301 A a mast foot support for sailboats is known, which has a vertically arranged pivot which forms a vertical axis of symmetry about which the mast is rotatable. In addition, perpendicular to the pivot pin or a bolt that holds the mast either vertically or allows a flip towards the deck.
The US 7,137,346 Bl also discloses a mast laying device in the form of two sleeves which are pivotally connected together by a hinge. In order to allow the pivoting movement, one of the two sleeves is provided with a locking piece, which must be removed for pivoting to make room for the pivoting operation. The mast of a sailboat is pushed over the mast laying device or attached and rests in normal operation on the mast shoe of the sailboat. On the other hand, when the mast is to be placed on deck, it is first lifted to above the separation point of the two sleeves and fixed there by a pin. Thereafter, the locking piece is removed and the mast can then preferably be folded back.
In sailing areas with bridges, overhead lines and other obstacles that restrict the passage height, it is of considerable advantage if the mast can be laid. The laying and placing of the mast without crane is usually limited to boats with mast lengths up to about 12 meters in length. Very short masts can be set without assistance by the crew. From a certain mast length but technical aids for setting and laying the mast are indispensable. The best known is the Jutt. It serves to make the angle between the mast and the pull rope at the top of the mast so large that the mast can be placed and set again with handleable forces. As a rule, a pulley is mounted between the tow rope and a fixed point on board. The problem that occurs with all known devices is the lateral stabilization of the mast during laying. When wave movements, which are generated in particular by passing ships and lead to the rolling of the boat, the mast must be supported laterally. If this does not happen, then occur in the pivot bearing of the mast or mast so great Torques on that destroys the pivot bearing or the mast is bent in this area. This problem can be reduced by the fact that the upper walls are fixed in the axial direction of the pivot bearing in the railing area. When setting and placing the mast, the upper walls are easily loosened and then serve for lateral stabilization.
A second problem is that the devices described above can not usually be used directly while driving. For the known technical solutions require technical devices that prevent damage to the mast or pivot bearing during rolling movements of the boat during placement or laying of the mast. These are relatively expensive and can not be used during the ride of the boat in the rule.
The present invention solves the above problems by a non-articulated mast is driven and this is rotatable when setting and laying about a vertical axis. The problem of lateral stabilization is erfmdungsgemäß solved by the fact that the mast chair is rotatably mounted about a vertical axis, the Dirk limits the lateral oscillations of the mast when laying and cushioning, the boom remains fixed and the rope attached to the lower end of the folding mast is and serves the actual setting and laying, does not hinder the aforementioned oscillations. The rotatable about a vertical axis storage of Mastfußes and the mast, coupled with a tensioned Dirk, prevents the emergence of large torques in the pivot bearing, which can cause damage to the mast or mast base during rolling motion of the boat.
The invention can be used in all sailboats that are to be equipped with tilting mast. It is particularly advantageous for sailboats, in which the mast is to be placed alone by the crew out of the cockpit during the journey to drive through bridges.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to a drawing; show it:
Fig. 1 ein Ausführungsbeispiel mit stehendem Mast;1 shows an embodiment with a standing mast.
The arrangement shown in Fig. 1 consists of a folding mast 1, which is in a mast chair 2 and in this about a horizontal pivot axis 3 is pivotable. The mast chair 2 is mounted on a lower mast 4 and rotatable with this about the vertical axis. The lower mast 4 is held by a bearing 12 in the deck 11 and by an abutment 10 on the keel.
The folding mast 1 is in normal position vertically in the mast chair 2 and pivots when laying the mast around the pivot axis 3. The mast 2 is locked in the sailing position and can not rotate around the vertical axis then. A second lock prevents the folding mast tilts around the pivot axis. The mast is unsung.
The boom 5 is struck on the mast chair 2 with a Lümmelbeschlag and is locked when setting and placing the mast in a mast support 7. The Dirk 6 from the mast top to the nock of the boom is always kept stiff when placing and placing the mast.
Fig. 2 shows the arrangement during the laying of the folding mast 1. The locking of the mast chair 2 and the pivot bearing 3 are solved in this process. The folding mast is now held by the rope 8, which is gefϊert or hauled over a winch 9. When laying the folding mast, the rope is 8 gef undert and the Dirk 6 brought close at the same time. Due to the stiffness of the Dirk, the lateral movements of the folding mast are severely limited and cushioned during roll movements of the ship. Since the mast chair is rotatable about its vertical axis, no destructive torques arise in the pivot bearing with the slight lateral movements of the folding mast. The forces acting on the Dirk are dissipated via the stable mast support and the mainsheet on the hull.
From the exemplary description of the operation of the mast laying apparatus it can be seen that the mast can be placed and placed while driving without the crew having to leave the cockpit.
