Abstract

第1気筒♯4の排気弁開時の燃焼室内からの圧力波(ブローダウン圧力波)を上記第2気筒♯1の排気ポート1eに、かつ該第2気筒の排気弁の再開期間に作用させることにより排気を第2気筒内♯1に加圧供給するブローダウン圧力波過給機構40と、第2気筒♯1内に加圧供給された排気(EGRガス)が吸気ポート1dから流入する新気と混合するのを抑制するマスク部材50とを備え、上記第2気筒♯1内において、新気に多量の上記EGRガスを含む温度の高い第1温度層T1と、新気に該第1温度層T1より少量の上記EGRガスを含み、該第1温度層T1より温度の低い第2温度層T2とが形成される4サイクルエンジン。
