Abstract

 本発明の光学積層フィルムは、偏光子と、偏光子の一方の面に積層された位相差フィルムと、を備え、偏光子は、二色性物質を含有する親水性ポリマーの延伸フィルムを有しており、この偏光子の波長1000nmにおける面内の複屈折率(Δnxy[1000])が、0.01~0.03であり、位相差フィルムは、屈折率楕円体がnx>ny≧nzの関係を満足するフィルムであり、位相差フィルムの遅相軸方向が、前記偏光子の吸収軸方向と実質的に直交するように配置されている。  本発明の光学積層フィルムは、例えば、液晶表示装置に使用した場合に、そのコントラスト比を高くすることができる。
