Abstract

　本発明は、下記式（Ｉ）で示される液晶性化合物、この液晶性組成物を用いて形成された液晶層を有する光学フィルム、基材と該基材上に形成された配向膜と、該配向膜上に前記液晶性組成物を用いて形成された液晶層を有する光学積層体である。本発明によれば、液晶相上限温度が高く、化学的に安定であり、安価に製造でき、しかも、選択反射波長帯域Δλが広い（Δｎが大きい）液晶性化合物、この化合物を含有する液晶性組成物、並びにこの組成物から形成された液晶層を有する光学フィルム及び光学積層体が提供される。式（Ｉ）中、Ｒ１～Ｒ１３は水素原子、フッ素原子、メチル基、トリフルオロメトキシ基、シアノ基等を表し、Ｘは、－Ｏ－、－Ｏ－ＣＯ－等を表し、ｎは０又は１であり、Ｒ１４は、式：－Ａ－ＣＯ－ＣＨ＝ＣＨ２（Ａは連結基を表す。）で表される基等を表す。
