Definitions

  • the invention relates to a dryer section of a machine for producing and / or finishing a paper, cardboard, tissue or other fibrous web in which the fibrous web, supported by drying fabrics, is guided over at least a number of heated drying cylinders, the fibrous web being guided by one upstream press section for dewatering the fibrous web to the dryer section.
  • the fibrous web runs with one or both sides of a press felt through at least one press nip.
  • the result is a relatively high roughness on the side of the fibrous web that comes into contact with the press felt. This applies, albeit to a lesser extent, to the side of the fibrous web that is in contact with a transfer belt or a dryer fabric.
  • the fibrous web therefore often has too high a roughness and, if there is only one press felt in the last press nip, also a pronounced two-sidedness, that is to say different surface properties.
  • the fibrous web increasingly does not meet the requirements for smoothness and printability.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to reduce the two-sidedness and the roughness of the fibrous web with relatively simple means.
  • the object was achieved in that at least on one of the first 6 drying cylinders of the dryer section a smoothing gap is formed between the drying cylinder and a smoothing device, in particular a smoothing roller, through which only the fibrous web runs, the pressing forces in the smoothing gap between 5 and 80 KN / m lie.
  • Shoe press rollers or press belts for formation can also be used as smoothing devices extended smoothing gap are used. While the flexible roll jacket in shoe press rolls is pressed against the drying cylinder by a pressing unit with a concave pressing surface, this is done with the press belts via the belt tension.
  • the smoothing gap at the beginning of the dryer section reduces the two-sidedness and the roughness of the fibrous web in a very efficient manner due to the smooth surfaces of the drying cylinder and smoothing device, since the fibrous web is very moist and soft in this area.
  • press forces must be limited to avoid excessive surface compaction. In most cases, press forces between 10 and 30 KN / m are sufficient in the smoothing gap.
