Abstract

'BEAR PAW' sandwich maker consists of the following: housing with an electronic unit for heaters control, snap lid (3), stamp heater (5), bottom part (4) of the appliance and switch (1, 2, 6, 7) for control of functions. Sandwiches are being treated from inside. Stamps, provided with heaters, press various forms inside the sandwiches, into which sausages or hamburgers are being placed. There are various shapes of stamps wich heaters: shape '5': three straight heaters embraced by an L-shaped fourth heater, shape '2' : two straight heaters and shape '0' : one or two flat round discs. The appliance is made of top-quality stainless steel. Electronic unit controlling the operation of heaters consumes only 250 W while in phase of sandwich preparation and 75 W while in the 'waiting' phase.

Description

SANDWICH MAKER
1 ) AREA TO WHICH THE INVENTION IS RELATED
This invention is related to appliances for the preparation of sandwiches and according to the international classification (IPC) it has been classified as: A47 J 37/08 - kitchen appliances. Appliances for food preparation - BREAD TOASTERS.
2) TECHNICAL PROBLEM
Having detected the shortcomings of the existing appliances for the preparation of sandwiches on the world market, "BEAR PAW" sandwich maker has been developed, with the main goal of opening new possibilities of preparing sandwiches treated from the inside, in which way new shapes and tastes are being offered.
The technical problem this appliance solves is treating the sandwiches from the inside, i.e. roasting them fast and getting a crispy crust inside the sandwich, in three shapes. By filling these roasted forms with sausages or hamburgers, we get special forms of sandwiches, of unique shape and taste.
3) STATE OF THE ART
There are numerous appliances for the preparation of sandwiches available worldwide. However, these appliances have never before treated the sandwiches from the inside, which makes this appliance unique on the world market. Besides, all the sandwich makers known so far used 4 to 5 times stronger electric power (approx. 1500 to 2000 W), whereas this appliance needs only 250 W. 4) ESSENCE OF THE INVENTION
Primary goal of the invention was to develop and improve the preparation of sandwiches in such a way that the sandwich is treated from the inside and so we get very tasty food. By filling these roasted forms with sausages or hamburgers, we get special forms of sandwiches, of unique shape and taste.
Secondary goal of the invention is energy saving.
The basic working principle, which distinguishes this appliance from the ones we have had so far, is that specially designed stamps (matrices), provided with heaters, press various forms inside the sandwiches (being roasted at the same time), into which sausages or hamburgers are being placed. Altogether is simultaneously being roasted into the top and bottom part of the roll (sandwich).

(DRAWING No 5) (DRAWING No 6)
The BEAR PAW sandwich maker is made of top-quality stainless steel AISI 304 (W.Nr. 1.4301) and AISI 316 Ti (W.Nr. 1.4571), tested in compliance with the valid regulations.
This appliance is used to make sandwiches with rolls of any type of flour, up to 130 mm in diameter. Such sandwiches are filled with sausages at choice, roasted or cooked, or hamburgers. The taste may be enriched by adding mustard, horseradish, mayonnaise, vegetables, normal cheese or grated cheese (Parmesan).
5) DETAILED WAY OF REALIZATION OF THE INVENTION
Drawings below show exactly the way and principle of operation of the BEAR PAW appliance.
(DRAWING No 7) After having plugged the appliance into the power supply (220 V, 50 Hz), proceed as follows:
1. Achieving working temperature of the appliance
After having turned it on by pressing the switch ON-OFF (1), the appliance is prepared for further operation by pressing the switch "START" (2 - orange lamp lights up) and we leave the appliance to complete the normal heating cycle lasting for about 1 minute. During that time, the top of the appliance is (3) down. After the lamp goes off and the signal sounds, the process is being repeated by pressing the switch "START" for two (2) more times. Proceed as described when you wish to use the appliance in as short intervals as possible.
The same effect, but only after 25 minutes, are being achieved if the appliance is turned on only by pressing the switch ON-OFF (1). Proceed as described when you have enough time to make the first sandwich from the moment of turning on the appliance.
2. Making sandwiches
After having cut a round roll into two halves, place the bottom part into the bottom part of the appliance (4). Before that, lift the top (3) and the heater (5). You place the heater back into the working position on that part of the roll (5) and then place the top part of the roll on top. After that, shut the top (3) and turn the appliance on by pressing the switch "START" (2). Wait until the control lamp on the switch "START" (2) turns off and the signal sounds. Now open the top and the heater and take out the roasted parts of the roll that will be used to prepare the BEAR PAW sandwich.
Temperature controller (6) serves to increase temperature if you want the imprints of the heater to be roasted stronger.
Time controller (7) serves to increase the roasting time, if you want a deeper, roasted and crispy crust. W
2. Maintenance and cleaning of the BEAR PAW
The appliance is turned on for the preparation of sandwiches and it may stay on for quite some time, while consuming 25% of the nominal power. While waiting for another sandwich to be prepared, the heater (5) and the top (3) must be closed.
Do not start the appliance without pauses if there is no roll in it.
If the roll burns due to inadequate choice of temperature, the burned part should be removed by an object made of stainless steel (scratch it off by knife, fork, spoon or by stainless steel wool for dishes). All cleansing agents normally used in kitchens are allowed.
It is not allowed to pour water onto the appliance either during cleaning, or simply by negligence during its operation.
There is an electronic unit (item 8) in the housing, controlling the operation of the heater. This appliance is unique, because it requires only 2500 W for operation in the course of preparation of sandwiches, and 75% while in the phase of "waiting".
The heating system of the appliance is based on the principle of maintaining the temperature (after the initial starting and heating) of 200°C and consuming 75 W electric power. When the process of making sandwiches is started (by pressing the switch "START" (item 2)), the temperature rises up to the temperature required for fast roasting of the shapes imprinted into the roll. That part of the process takes 60 seconds (±10%). After that time has elapsed, which can also be additionally adjusted by means of a timer (item 7) within the range of ±10%, the heaters are turned off and cooled down to the set temperature of 200°C. The process is repeated when a new sandwich is being prepared. 6) WAY OF IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INVENTION
As described above, this invention enables the production of an effective, durable and useful appliance that can be economically manufactured and which includes significant improvements in comparison to the appliances of this kind that have been known so far. Based on this invention, it is possible to make sandwiches of unique shape and taste.
