Abstract

Un método y un sistema para alimentar y quemar un combustible pulverizado, tal como, coque de petróleo, en un horno de fundición de vidrio, el cual incluye una región de fundición de vidrio y una pluralidad de quemadores asociados con un par de cámeras regenerativas selladas dispuestas en una relación lado con lado, las cuelas actúan como intercambiadores de calor, los quemadores son arreglados en una serie de puertos que están asociados con la región de fundición de vidrio del horno. El sistema incluye medios para suministrar el combustible pulverizado porc ada uno de los quemadores para fundir la material prima par producer el vidrio. Las emisiones de los gases de combustión, que se producen por el proceso de combustión del combustible en el horno, son controladas para mantener limpios los gases de combustión y para reducir las emisiones o impurezas generadas por el combustible tal como SOx, NOx y partículas. Las cámaras regenerativas son manufacturadas con refractarios seleccionados de magnesio, alúmina-sílica-zirconia o magnesia y zirconia-silicato, para contrarrestar los efectos abrasivos y erosivos que se producen por el proceso de combustión de combustible en la cámara de fundición de vidrio. Tambièn se provee un quemador para suministrar el coque de petróleo, el quemador incluyendo medios para simultáneamente mezclar un aire primario y una mezcla de aire-combustible pulverizado para el quemado del combustible pulverizado.
