Definitions
- the invention relates to a housing for hot runner location or fixed brake location scanners with infrared detectors and a heating device.
- Hot runner location or fixed brake location scanners are usually mounted on rails, the measuring openings of the detectors being at a relatively short distance from the top edge of the rails.
- a small distance is generally not a major problem if the snow layer above the detector is melted in the scanning device with a built-in heating system. Due to the small distance, the top edges of such detectors are cleaned by the wind.
- Known devices of this type are described in DE-A-19 18 317, a special support structure being screwed to the rail webs and the corresponding hot runner or. Fixed sorting system is mounted.
- DE-A-42 17 681 has already proposed the installation of hot runner location scanners or fixed brake location scanners in a trough threshold.
- the upper edge of such trough sleepers is located at the level of the rail foot and the hot runner location or fixed brake location scanners are therefore recessed in the trough sleeper, which results in a relatively large distance between the upper rail edge and the measuring device. With such a large distance, larger amounts of snow or ice can build up above the detector, which impairs or even prevents the measurement.
- the design according to the invention consists essentially in the fact that the housing consists of a lower housing part and a cover, that the cover is designed as a chimney cap with side surfaces converging towards the upper edge, the insides of which carry an electrical heating device, and that the cover on its upper edge or near the top edge has openings for the scanning beams of the infrared detector (s).
- a cover which is designed as a chimney cap with side surfaces converging towards the upper edge, ensures that even in heavy snowfall this snowfall falls over the converging side surfaces under gravity.
- electrical heating devices are now provided on the inner sides of the side surfaces and the cover has openings for the scanning beams of the infrared detector (s) on its top edge or near the top edge, ensures that the integrated heating system has the respective opening cross section due to rising warm air at the top of the lid will surely keep snow or ice free, so that safe scanning and location of hot runners or hard braking is guaranteed.
- the surface that is available for a possible snow cover is relatively small here, since this surface merges directly into the side surfaces that drop off laterally and converge towards the upper edge.
- at least one film melts in direct contact with the side walls, so that the snow load can sink under its own weight or is subsequently melted.
- Due to the chimney effect the openings at the top edge are kept safe even when the heating output is comparatively low, since the total amount of snow or ice built up above remains relatively low due to the small surface area. This is all the more true because, due to the chimney cap, the upper edge of the housing cover is brought close to the rail running edges, so that the head wind also rolls. the rail vehicles cause additional mechanical cleaning.
- the design is such that the lower housing part has a further electrical heating device and is provided with drainage openings for melt water, so that no appreciable amounts of snow can accumulate in the interior of the open housing.
- the heating device of the cover is designed as an electrical resistance heater, the winding (s) of which run essentially parallel to the bottom of the lower housing part.
- Such an arrangement of the electrical resistance heater immediately results in the desired flow of the warm rising air and leads to a particularly efficient keeping of snow even with low heating powers.
- the design is advantageously made such that the top edge of the cover is arranged at a distance from the top edge of the threshold which is the minimum allowable free space or clear space between the level of the top edge of the rail and the hot runner location scanner or Fixed location scanner.
- the design is advantageously made such that the cover is asymmetrically trapezoidal in the cross-sectional plane penetrated by the axis of the trough sleeper and that the upper surface parallel to the plane of the rail running edges lies in the projection of the bearings of a rolling rail vehicle to be located onto the trough sleepers.
- the lower housing part can be designed as a partial region of the trough sleeper and the cover can extend over the entire width of the trough sleeper as seen in the longitudinal direction of the rail and be determinable.
- Trough sleepers are usually provided with covers, and the same devices as are provided for fixing the covers of the trough sleeper can also be used for fastening the cover to the chimney cap.
- the training is advantageously made such that the openings in the cover are equipped with closable covers.
- the closable covers can be formed by simple sliders or flaps and connected to a drive, the covers only opening during the scanning process.
- FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of an open trough sleeper with the cover removed and the hot runner location scanner inserted
- FIG. 2 shows the view according to FIG. 1 with the cover closed.
- a trough threshold 1 can be seen, in which hot heat location scanners 2 are used.
- a heating device is provided within the trough thresholds, a connecting cable 3 for a heating device 4 being visible in the cover 5.
- the heating device 4 in the cover is designed as a resistance heater and extends over the inner sides 6 of the side walls of the cover, as they are denoted by 7 and 8 in FIG.
- the upper edge of the cover has openings 9, as can be seen in particular in FIG. 2, so that the required scanning geometry of the scanner on the bearings of a rolling rail vehicle can be ensured.
- the rail is designated by 10 in FIGS. 1 and 2, only one rail being shown in each case is.
- the trough sleeper 1 extends over the entire width of the track.
- the trough sleeper is closed by a flat cover 11 with screws 12.
- the cover 13 On the laterally protruding parts of the trough sleeper in which the hot-heat locating system 2 is arranged, the cover 13 has two side surfaces 7 and 8 converging towards the upper edge, the openings 9 being arranged in a cover surface 14 parallel to the upper edge of the rails 10.
- the surface of the flat top surface 14 is extremely small due to the chimney-like structure with the mutually converging side walls 7 and 8 and can be safely cleared by the wind. Due to the heating arranged on the inner walls 6 of the side walls 7 and 8 and the chimney effect generated by them, the openings 9 are reliably kept free of snow and ice.
