Description

PATENT OEEIGEa OLIVER S. GARRETSON, OF BUFFALO, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR HINGES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 9,339,
dated June 13, 1876; application liled May 15, 1876.
[Term of Patent 14 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that'I, OLIVER S. GAREETsoN, of the city of Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State oi' New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Hinges, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanyingengraving.
My design is clearly shown in the accompanying engraving, which represents my design applied to a surface blind-hinge.
A represents the pintle, and B the baseplate thereof. O is the socket, and I) the baseplate ot' the saine. The side edges of the base-plates B and D are ot' ornamental forni, the upper and lower corners a thereof being slightly rounded and connecting with projecting points b. Adjacent to the latter are concave curves c, which are connected by short perpendicular lines d to the central convex curves e. h represents a raised bead running along the outer and upper and lower edges of the base-plates. The bead h is continued along the inner edges of both base-plates B and D, and connects with the ange supporting the pintle A on the base-plate B, and with the socket on the plate D. The sunk screwholes gare provided with a circular marginal bead, f, projecting above the face ot' the baseplates. i represents a raised rib or bead arranged along the upper edge of the socket O, and k a similar raised bead ruiming along the lower edge thereof.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
l. The design for the two base-plates B D, provided with raised circular beads f, arranged at about equal distances apart, and having ornamental edges, consisting of rounded corners a, projecting points b, concave curves o, perpendicular lines d, and central convex curves c, and having a corresponding marginal bead, h, as herein shown and described.
2. rEhe design for the socket C, having upper and lower marginal beadsi and It, substantially as shown and described.
OLIVER S. GARRETSON.
