DESIGN FOR A MONUMENT.

Specitication forming part of Design No. 6,368, dated January 28,1873.

To all whom t may concem:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM rI. CROSS, of Kewanee, in the county of Henry and State of Illinois, have invented a Design for Marble Monument, of which the following is a specification: f

This is a design for a childs monument, which has four equal sides, the front side being the one shown in the drawing, to which refer ence is made.

A represents a cut limestone base; B, a molded marble base; C, an ornamental carved ogee die; and D, an urn with a tlower in the neck of it. The liower in the neck ot' the urn I use as an ornament. F, a scroll carved on one side of the sloping top of the die, containing the motto, One sweet ower has drooped and faded, Gr Gr, ornamental leaves carved upon each of the four corners of the monumental die, the scroll-work of the bottom of the leaves being continued along the bottom of the die till it meets in the center,

and is intertwined in the manner represented at H.

I am aware Jthat an ogee die is not new, and do not claim it.
