DESIGN FOR A CARPET-PATTERN.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
I, HUGH S. KERK, of' Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, State ot' Pennsylvania, have invented or produced a Design for a Carpet-Pattern, of which the following is a specification.
The figure in the accompanying drawings represents suflcient of a carpet-pattern to illustrate my design, the main features ol' which are the tablets A, A', and B.
The tablets A are of a rectangular shape, and have an ornamental border, a, and central ornament b, of the character clearly represented in the drawings.
The tablets A are similar to the tablets A, except that they have a somewhat more elaborate central ornament, b'.
Each of the tablets B is of the peculiar shape Shown, has a square central figure, f, and a wide ornamental border, h, enlarged at opposite points, and containing two scroll-like ornaments, t'.
The adjacent corners of the tablets A and A' are connected by a small square figure, j; and the space c,
intervening between the said tablets and the tablets B, is occupied by a zigzag stripe, k, and by the minor ornamentation shown.
Irrespective of the colors employed,
I claim- 1. rIhe design for the tablets A, substantially as shown and described.
2. The design for the tablets A', as described and represented.
3. The design for the tablets B, as shown and described.
4. The design for the whole pattern, including the tablets A, A', and B, figures j, and ornamented space c.
