The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part cf the sarrel I, ISRAEL FOSTER, of Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, have invented or produced a Design for, a Carpet-Pattern, of which the following is a specification.
The accompanying photograph fully represents my design, the remainder of the pattern being merely a repetition of that which is shown.
The design consists in the arrangement, upon any suitable ground-work, of four figures,- A, A, B, and B, surrounding a central figure, C, the latter consisting of a branch, leaves, and bunch of fruit, arranged substantially as shown.
The figure A is composed of a. central ornament, A, representing a bunch of fruit, of two concentric circles, b and c, with intervening scallops d, and of an outer wreath, 6, consisting of flowers, leaves, and stems, suitably arranged.
The figure A closely resembles the figure A, the main point of difference being that the scallops e are outside of instead of between the circles.
The figure Bis eight pointed, it having a border composed of curved ribs f, outside of which is a lacelike edging, h.
The interior of the figure is made up of a central ornament, i, dot-ted ground-work k, curred an angular rib l, and scallops m, surrounding the latter.
The interior of tho figure B is composed of-eoncentric circles, surrounded by a border and edging similar to that of the figure B.
Irrespectiveof the colors employed,
I claim the design for a carpet-pattern. substantially as described, and as represented in and by the accompanying drawing.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
