I'o all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HENRY WHITNEY, of East Cambridge, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented aDesign for a Lamp- Fount, of which the following is a full, clear, and eX- act description, reference being had to the aecompanying photograph forming part of this specification.

A represents a receptacle, of cylindrical form, from a to b, at each of which points the outside of the receptaele is surrounded by a circular band or ring, c, between which is formed a series of figures, d, composed of a combination of segments of curves of the shape shown, the gures being oblong in a horizontal direction, that is to say, the distance between the extremities of a gure measured outside the surface of the cylinder in a plane passing horizontally through it, is greater than that measured in a line passing vertically through its other extremities.

These figures are in bas-relief, and are separated from each other by vertical bars or projections e.

The top ofthe cylindrical portion a l) is surinountew with a dome-shaped roof, the center of which is lel's open, and surrounded by a circular neck or iiange, B, for the reception of the collar, to which the burner if to be attached.
