DESIGN FOR A TEAPOT.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,058, dated January 2, 1900.

Be it known that I, AUSTIN F. JACKSON, a itizen of the United States, residing at Taun- )n, in the county of Bristol and State of Masichusetts, have invented and produced a new nd original Design for Teapots, of which the )llowing is a specification, reference being ad to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, in which-- Figure 1 is a side view of a teapot, showing 1y new design. Fig. 2 is a cross-section on bout line A B, Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a cross-sec- ,on on about line 0 D, Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a ross-section on about line E F, Fig. 1.- Fig. is a cross-section on about line G H, Fig. 1; nd Fig. 6 is a plan View of the body of the aapot.

As shown in the drawings, the leading or iaterial feature of my design consists in the aised ornamental work applied on cover and eck in the form of a foliated flowered spray.

Minor features of my design consist in the rnamentation of the handle, the spout, and he feet.

The spray 1 on the cover has the daisy-like .o-wer 2 and pal-takes of the general design f the sprays 3 upon the-neck of the teapot, uch sprays 3 being symmetrically disposed -n opposite sides of a central line and having the depending branches and the horizontally- 0 disposed branches leading laterally outward from the upper end of their respective de pending branches, such branches having the daisy-like flowers, as shown.

The spout 4 has the scroll ornament 5 on its upper side at its outer end, the scroll 0rnaments 6 and 7 on, respectively, its upper and lower sides at its inner end, and the scroll ornament 8 upon its sides near its inner end.

The handle 9 has at the juncture of its upper end with the body of the teapot the ornamentation 10, simulating wrinkled folds, and is provided with scroll ornaments 11 at its lower end and with a composite scroll and floral ornamentation 12 at its upper end.

The legs 13 are ornamented by the scrolls 14 of the Corinthian order.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is Y The design for a teapot, as herein shown and described.
