WITNESSES INVENTOR p 7 m MQ @fl/MW A TTOHNEYS,
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DAVID BASCII, OF NE\V YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A TOE-CLIP.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,920, dated November 30, 1897.
Application filed September 13, 1897. Serial No. 651,547. Term of patent 7 years.
To aZZ whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, DAVID BASCH, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Toe-Clip, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective View of a toe-clip embodying the features of my design, and Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the same.
The design relates particularly to toe-clips for bicycle-pedals, in which the base A and toe-guard B are of the usual shape.
The leading feature of the design consists in lips C, which extend beyond the rear of the base, the lips appearing continuous with the base and apparently in the same plane, and in the side guards D. The side guards extend horizontally from each side of the base A and at their outer portions are curved upward and turned inward in direction of the toe-guard B. The upper ends of the side guards are below the under surface of the return section of the toe-guard and the upper ends of the side guards are also given a forward and an inward inclination.
A minor feature of the design consists in the pendent member (1, extending downward from the rear end of the base, beyond which the lips C project, and openings a which appear in said pendent member below the said lips.
I elaim The design fora toe-clip herein shown and described.
DAVID BASUII.
