DESIGN FOR A PLATE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design NO. 27,376, dated July 20, 1897.

Application filed June 5, 1397. Serial No, 639,609- Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CHARLES EDWARD HAVI- LAND, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Limoges, in the Republic of France, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Plate or Similar Article of a Table-Service, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, and in Which- Figure 1 is a top View of a plate hearing my design, and Fig. 2 is a sectional View of same on the dotted line 2 2 of Fig. 1.

The leading feature of my design consists of the ornamentation along the rim of the plate or similar article of a table-service, substantial y as shown in the accompanying drawings.

In the drawings, A designates the rim of the plate, whose outer edge bears the orna' mental band B, having at definite points the ornate scroll figures 0. Below the band B is the ornamental figure D, in the form of alternating large and small loops shown as hanging from the lower edge of the band B.

\Vhat I claim is The design for a plate or similar article of a table-service, substantially as shown and described.
