DESIGN FOR A BUCKLE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,263, dated June 29, 1897.

Application filed April 8, 1897. Serial No. 631,327. Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known thatl, ALBERT A. DAWSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Benton City, in the county of Audrain and State of Missouri, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Buckles,of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showing a part thereof.

This invention relates to a design for a buckle to be used in connection with check- Lil The main part or frame of the buckle is preferably rectangular in shape, consisting of the side pieces 1 and 2 and end pieces 3 3. The end pieces are flat and curved outwardly between the side pieces, as shown. The side piece 1 is provided at one end with a projecting portion 4, the other part of the side piece being comparatively small, and the projection is curved upward from the adjoining end piece to its highest point, from which it extends abruptly inward to the side piece. The other cross-piece 2 of the frame has a projection which presents outwardly-inclined edges extending from the opposite end pieces to its highest point, adjoining the end piece opposite that which is nearer the projection on the side piece 1. The highest points of the projections 1 and 2 are connected by a bar 5, and as said highest points are located at opposite sides of the transverse center of the frame said cross-bar extends diagonally. This cross-bar is provided with an inwardly-projecting lug 6.

From the foregoing description, in connection with the acccompanying drawings, it will be seen that an article made in accordance with my design presents a substantial rectangular frame with curved end pieces and side pieces with projections, the highest points of which are at opposite sides of the center of the frame, and a diagonal cross-bar connected to the projections of the side pieces and having an inwardly-projecting lug.

Having thus described my invention, I claim- The design for a buckle as herein shown and described.
