SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,143, dated February 1 1, 1896.

Be it known that I, Louis HORNBERGER,
a citizen of the l'nited States, residing at Bridgeport, Fairtield county, Connecticut, 5 have invented a new Design [or llases for Lamps and the Like, of which the following is a specification.
The accompanyingdrawings represent my base, Figure 1 in perspective, and on a smaller scale, Fig. 2, in top plan View.
The invention relates toa design for a base adapted to lamps and other articles; and the design consists in the contiguration and ornamentation thereof, as shown in the illustrai5 Lions.
The base is irregularly conical with four projecting feet and four projecting scrolls intermediate of these, the convex body of the base being ornamented with meuiseoid inedallions separated by rows ot bead-like projeetions, the irregular feet rising above that part of the body of the base to which they are attached and ornamented with scrolls and flowers, the intermediate irregular openwork scrolls being also ornamented by series of bead-like projections.
The leading feature of the design is the meuiseoid medallions and the rows ot. head like projections, the irregular scroll-ornamented feet and the intermediate irregular open-work scrolls.
\Vhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent ot the t'nited States, is as follows:
