UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRED B. BALDWIN, OF MUSKEGON, MICHIGAN, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO HENRY L. YOUNG, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A SHOW-CASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,763, dated August 9, 1892.
Application filed June 25,1892. Serial No. 438.049. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Beit known that LFRED B. BALDWIN, acitizen of the United States, residing at Muskegon, in the county ot' Muskegon and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Show-Case; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention has reference to a new and original design for a show-case, the object being to ornament and embellish the appearance of a case used for displaying therein goods of various kinds; and it consists in a new design for the case, substantiall y as herein shown and described.
In the annexed drawings, illustrating my design, Figure 1 is aside elevation of a showcase, showing the design. Fig. 2 is a horizontal sectional plan View of the same on the line a: :n of Fig. l.
Likeletters of reference designate like parts in both figures.
A denotes the main upper rectangular portion of the design, which is of suitable size, and is surmounted by the horizont-al ornamental edge a, and is mounted upon an ornamental base B. In the front of the part A is the representation of a door C. The case A is illustrated as being transparent, a series of horizontal shelves b b being observed therethrough. Below the base-plate B is a skeleton framework forming the ornamentallower portion of my design and consisting of the ornamental uprights D D,of which there are four, and which are situated between the base-plate B and the lower base-plate E. Projecting upward from the part E at. the central portion thereof is an ornamental post F. Running from the post F to each of the embellished nprights D is an inclined rib G, the lower end of which meets the post F and the base E, while the upper end meets the uprights D at about midway of its height, said end of rib G being provided with a rounded knob or projection g.
What I claim is- The design for a show-ease, substantially as herein described and shown.
