To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CHARLES F. Morm- HOFF, a citizen of the United States, residing at Riverside, in the county of Riverside and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Nozzle- Holders, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to nozzle holders and particularly contemplates the provision of a simple and efiicient device comprising a body portion having an opening therethrough for the reception of a hose nozzle, and supporting legs extending at such an 'angle from said body portion as to form a tripod with the hose as its third leg, whereby said hose and its nozzle and said holder are maintained in the operative position.

My invention further and specifically resides in the following features of construction and arrangement as will be hereinafter described with reference to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which,

Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved nozzle holder con'structed of wire and a nozzle supported thereby, and Fig. 2 is a perspective view of my improved nozzle holder constructed of sheet metal.

In the practical embodiment of my invention and with particular reference to Fig. 1, I provide a nozzle holder constructed of a single piece of wire bent upon itself and twisted and looped adjacent its bent end to form a body portion comprising a twisted section 1 and a loop 2 providing an opening therethrough, through which the nozzle A of a hose B may be projected. The ends of the wire are bent normally from the twisted section 1 of the body portion and are pointed or sharpened at their lower ends to form a pair of legs 3, said legs 3 being bent at such an angle from the twisted section 1 as described, as to form with the body portion and the hose and its nozzle, a tripod having the hose B and the nozzle A as its third leg when said hose and nozzle are in the position illustrated in Fig. l, in which position the nozzle A is thrust upwardly through the opening in the body portion and the hose B rests upon the ground, thus balancing the holder.

In Fig. 2 I have illustrated a similar holder constructed of sheet metal and providing a flat body portion 4 having a circular section 5 through which an opening is formed for the reception of the nozzle A of the hose, and having legs 6 formed by cutting out a section of the material and bending the same angularly from the body portion A and pointed or sharpened at their lower ends as the legs 3 shown in Fig. 1.

Having thus described my invention, I claim:

1. A hose nozzle holder of the character described, comprising a body portion adapted to occupy a substantially horizontal position in use, said body portion being provided with an opening therethrough for the reception of the hose nozzle, and angularly divergent supporting legs rigidly secured to said body portion, substantially as described.

2. A hose nozzle holder of the character described, comprising a ring adapted to occupy a substantially horizontal position in use and receive therein a hose nozzle extending upwardly therethrough, and an arm or extension secured to said ring and in the same plane therewith, said arm or extension terminating in downwardly bent divergent supporting legs, substantially as described.
