To all-whom it may concern:
Be it known that. l, Josicrn I'i'. Milan-ta, citizen of the United tjtates, residing at. Moss in the county of Clay and State of Tennessee, have invented certain new id use ful Improvements in 'ilindowdzane Holders, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a device adapted to adjustahly hold a t. sparent partition within a frame and more particularly designed for use in eoni'icetion with window sashes and doors wherein panes of are employed.
The invention further contemplates t construction and arrangement of auxilia frame sections secured to a window h or frameproper, whereby the glass pat-tit ion .is detachably held in position within the sash or frame without the use of facing I strips or putty and whereby the introdtn-tion or withdrmval of the glass with the least possible effort on the part of the operator is secured. The frame sections constituting the pane holder may be varied in share to conform with windows or franzeso. any character but for illustrative purposes they are shown in connection with an ordinary window of rectangular formation.
For a full understanding oft-he vii'iveutien and the merits thereof and also to acquire a knowledge of the details of construction and the means for effecting the result, reteronce is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a front elevation of the device in use with an ordinary window sash. Fig. 2 is a horizontal sectional view thereof. Fig. 3 illustrates in detail the sections of the device and window sash, and Fig. 4 is a ir .fieation illustrating the device in use wit Windowsof varying shape or formation.
Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the followim description and indicated in all the views 0: the drawings by the same reference characters.
Referring to the drawings the numeral 1 designates a window frame of ordinary construction and 2 the window sash having grooves 3 formed in its inner edges and adapted to receive the frame sections 4 ot the pane holder. 'The said sections when placed in position in the sash are capable of movement at right angles to the length of the grooves 3 and independentv of the cooperatingsections in the other sides ot the sash.

As will be obvious the entire device is adjustably arranged and tilted to the grooved inner edges ot a window sash or other frame, and possesses many advantages over the ordinary method of securii'ig transparent window partitions.
Having thus descriht-d the invention, what is claimed new is:
1. The combination with a window sash. having grooves formed in its inner edges, oi independent frame sections of loss. than and mounted in said groove: and movable therein at right angles to the length of the grooves, a transparent partition secured at the edges of aid independent Home sections, and springs interposed. between said sash and frame sections adapted to retain said sections in engagement with said transparent partltion.
2. In a Window pane holder, the combination with a. sash provided with grooves in its inner edges of a transparent partition, indeoendent frame sections of less depth than of which it within '2 ail between {taut pri in depth and adapted to fit within the grooves in said sash and provided with grooved edges designed to engsgethe edges of said partition, said sections being capable of movement Within and at right angles to thelength of said sash grooves, springs interposed between said sash and frame sections adapted to retain said sections in engagementwith said transparent partition, and pins secured to said frame sections adapted to support said in springs intermediate of their ends.
