TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, S. BUTTENHEIM, corner of Thirty-Second' street and Eighth avenue, city, county, and
VState of New York, have invented a new and improved Nursery4 Lounge; and I do hereby declare that the fol'- lowing is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, Whichwill enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, for-ming part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a side elevation, partly in'section, of my improved lounge. A
Figure f? is a side elevation of the same.
Figure 3 is a vertical. cross-section of the same, talen in the line a; x,ig 2.

This invention relates to a lounge in which everything almost is contained'which pertains to the comfort of a nursery. Within it are arranged a bureau, a writing-desk with shelves, a folding table, an easy-chair, and a night-chair, of which either can beruscrd at a time or more at once. as may be desired. All these devices can be concealed so that a common loungevonly will be visible.V
Under the head-rest A of the lounge. is arranged a wooden frame, B, in which .drawers C are arranged, which, in combination with the frame B, form a bureau; The cover D of the head-rest is hinged at the extreme top to the back of the sofa, or to the frame B, in sucha manner that it can be folded back, if desired, in the manner shown in' tig. 2. At its under side may be arranged a mirror, a, as shown, so thatthe same can be used by a person sitting'on the sofa. Above the coverb of the bureau, and between the sameand the swinging cover A, is arranged a sliding plate, E, which, when drawn out, as in'lig. 2, can be used as a writing-desk. Between the plate E and the mirror a can be shelves b b', for tiling papers, 85e. Suitable tassels or knobs,-cl e, have vto be secured to the drawers C and to the plate E, so'that the same may be easily drawn out. At the foot end of the lounge is also `arranged a hinged cover, F, which is hinged to the backof the sofa, or otherwise so attached that it can be swung back as shown in iig. 2, so as to vbe in an almostvertical position. Its upper as well as its under side must be well upholstered, so that it is soft when folded down, and that it, when swung back, will act as a back for an easy-chair, which is thus formed at the lower en d'of the lounge'. The cushion G, which forms the seat of the easy-chair, can be removed, and below it is hinged plate H, in lwhich a hole is arranged that may be closed` by a cover, d. The plate H is the cover* of abox into which a chamber-pot, I, can be placed, so` that the same can, in combination with the seat H and back F form a very comfortable nightd chain` Between the head and foot ends of the lounge is arranged, below the seat ofthe lounge, a drawer, K,
which can be drawn out `at the front of the lounge, as shown in iig. 3, and the front end of which drawerrests uponl a support, e, as shown. Within this drawer is arranged afoldingtable, which consists vof a plate or cover, L, and folding legs, M. The latter are hinged to a bottom plate, N, which forms part of the bottom of thedrawer K, and` which is secured to the same by means of dove-tail keys ff. `By removing the latter the table can be taken out of theV drawer altogether and used independent of the lounge. A
The construction of the table may vary, and I do not conne myself to' any particular kind or shape of table, as lng as'the same can be folded'into the drawer K or be expanded when the latter is drawn out, or removed altogether from the same, as may be desired. The shape of the lounge is as usual or nearly so, and the seat, back, and head-rest of thersame can be nicely upholstered in the usual manner. It rests upon legs or supports g g.
`Having thus described my invention, -what I'elaim asnew, and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- 1. A combined lounge and night-chair, when made and `operating substantially as herein specified and described.
2. A combined lounge, nightchair, and folding table, when made and operating substantially as herein specified and described;
3. A combined lounge, night-chair, folding table, and bureau, when made and operating substantially as herein specified and described. v
4. A combinedlounge, night-chair, folding tab-legbureau, and writing-desk, when made and operating sub` y.stantially vas herein Vspecified and described.
5. A combined lounge, night-chair, folding table, bureau, and mirror, when -mede and operating substancally as herein specified and described. l y
6. A combined lounge and folding table, the latter being so arranged as to be concealed in a. drawer, K, expended or altogether' removed from the loungenrs set forth.
7. A combined lounge and mirror,. when made and operating substantially es herein specified and described. l v
8. combined lounge and writing-desk, when rnade und operating substantially as herein specified and described.
9. A nurserr lounge, when made and operating substantially as herein specified and described.
