To a/ZZ whom it may/concern,.-

Be it known that I, ROOHFORT W. ROBIN- SON, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing at San Antonio,in the county of Bexar and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pens; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

My invention relates to pens.

My object is to provide an improved and simple pen which will be adapted to hold a I Fig.

large quantity of ink and to feed it regularly and more satisfactorily than has heretofore been possible.

Having the foregoing Object in View, the present invention consists of a pen provided with substantially flat wings which converge inwardly toward the body of the pen and meet along a centrally-disposed line,\being provided with inclined nibs which abut upon the nibs of the pen.

A designates an Ordinary pen which is provided with the usual nibs l and 2. I employ two wings 3 and 4, which are connected to the downwardly-bent edges of the pen at points 5 and 6. These wings meet snugly on line 7, and it will be observed that they are inclined downwardly, so as to lie close to the body of the pen. The front portions of these wings are narrowed, as at 8 and 9, to form inclined nibs which abut on the nibs of the pen'at the point l0, so that the flow of ink is partially arrested at this point, thereby insuring a steady and regular feed. The wings, together with the under side of the pen, form a sort of reservoir, as it were, the feed from which is regulated as just described.

Myinvention is cheap, simple, and durable and is adapted to hold a large quantity of ink and to readily and evenly feed the same`during writing. e

Slight modifications might be resorted to without materially affecting the construction or operation of the invention, and it is to be understood, therefore, that I consider myself.`

entitled to all such variations as come within the spirit and scope of the invention.`

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is- The combination with a pen, of wings'connected to the sides ofthe pen and located underneath the latter, said wings beingsubstantially llat and converging inwardly toward the body `of the peu to meet along a centrallydisposed line, and provided with inclined nibs, which abut upon thef-,nibs of the pen.
