BABY BOTTLE HOLDER Filed May 28, 1958 Benjamin Farah 1 N VE N TOR.
BABY BOTTLE HOLDER Benjamin Farah, Lakewood, Ohio Application May 28, 1958, Serial No. 738,507
'4 Claims. (Cl. Z48- 106) This invention relates generally to a holding device and more particularly to a device designed and adapted to support and properly position baby' bottles.
Often, a busy mother is unable-to find the time to hold a bottle for her baby for the fulluperio'd required for feeding: Atyoung ages, the baby of course is unable to hold the bottle itself and even at such an age when it can hold the bottle, it is often undesirable in that the baby will oftentimes throw the bottle on the floor or spill the contents therefrom. A device therefore which would free the mother to enable her to complete her household chores while the baby is feeding and which would not expose itself to the temperamental effects of the child would be clearly advantageous. Therefore, it is a principal object of this invention to provide a novel and improved construction in a device designed and adapted to support and properly position a baby bottle for feeding.
It is a further object of this invention to provide a simple stable construction to support and position a baby.
bottle.
It is a still further object of this invention to provide a novel and improved construction for supporting and positioning a baby bottle which while being very efiicient and a significant time saver, is relatively inexpensive to manufacture and easy to utilize.
In accordance with the above stated objects, below is described a novel construction for supporting and positioning baby bottles so as to allow a baby to be properly fed without the aid of the mother which comprises initially a substantially rectangular supporting frame member having a bottom, top, and a pair of side portions. Terminally fixed to the bottom portion are a pair of transverse stabilizing members. The device is intended to be utilized in such a manner-whereby the baby will lie on a bed overlying the bottom member to stabilize the device. The top member therefore will pass over the baby spaced therefrom. Anaperture in the top portion is adapted to pass an elongated bar which has a series of apertures therethrough. The apertures accommodate a pin which may be passed therethrough for selectively and adjustably positioning the bar relative to the top member. Dependingly'supported from the bar is a baby bottle holder which includes a wire truncated conehaving a hook afiixed thereto which passes through one of the apertures in said bar. The two fiat faces on the truncated cone are open anda baby bottle may be carried in the holder with the baby bottle nipple being conveniently positioned proximate the babys mouth.
These together with other objects and advantages which will become subsequently apparent reside in the details of construction and operation as more fully hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming a part hereof, wherein like numerals refer to like parts throughout, and in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating the device comprising this invention in its performing environment;
Figure 2 is an elevational side view of the frame member and supporting bar; and
- teed States Pate 2,931,608 Patented Apr. 5, 1960 Figure 3 is a perspective view of the wire truncated top portion 20 being of somewhat arcuate shape. The
material used in the construction of the frame is not critical and any material, as for instance, wood, plastic, or metal could be utilized. A pair of transverse stabilizers are affixed at either end of the bottom portion 26. The stabilizers are designated by numerals 28 and 30. The stabilizers 28 and 30 are adapted to lie flat on the bed 16 while the baby 14 is intended to lie on the bottom portion 26. Therefore, it willibe apparent that the frame 18 will be stabilized about the baby 14 with respect to the bed 16.
,A rectangular aperture 32 passes through the arcuate portion or top portion 20 of frame 18. Carried within the rectangular aperture 32 is an elongated bar 34 which fits slidably but comfortably in the aperture 32. The bar 34 has a series of apertures 36 therethrough which extend transversely to the slidable direction of the bar 34 in the aperture 32. The apertures 36 are adapted to pass a pin or rod 38 for supporting the elongated bar 34 in a selective slidable adjustable position relative to the top portion 20.
A wire truncated cone 40 has a pair of open flat surfaces 42 and 44 for holding the baby bottle 12. Aflixed to the truncated cone 40 is a hook 46. The wire truncated cone 40 is of welded construction as at 48.
A bottom aperture 50 in the elongated bar 34 is adapted to pass and support the hook 46 secured to the wire truncated cone 40 which is adapted to support the baby bottle 12. It will be apparent that as illustrated, the baby bottle 12 will be properly supported and positioned so that the baby bottle nipple 13 will fall proximate the babys mouth.
It will be apparent therefore that what has been described clearly and efliciently solves a harassing problem. The proper utilization of the device as disclosed will aid the busy mother and housewife in performing her chores and will aid the baby in that his feeding need not be rushed.
From the foregoing, the construction and operation of the device will be readily understood and further explanation is believed to be unnecessary. However, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction shown and described, and accordingly all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention as claimed.
What is claimed as new is as follows:
