2 Claims. (Cl. 248-125) My invention relates to a doll holder.

An object of my invention is to provide a doll holder which will hold a doll in a vertical or erect position, thereby providing a desirable means for children for arranging dolls in this fashion.

A further object of my invention is to provide an adjustable arrangement whereby various size dolls can be accommodated in the holder.

A further object of my invention is to provide means whereby the feet of the doll will not rest upon the holder itself, but will rest upon the floor, thereby eliminating the tendency of tipping over the holder.

A further object of my invention is to provide a holder which is simple in construction and which will remain in erect position.

With these and other objects in view, my invention consists in the construction, arrangement, and combination of the various parts of my device, whereby the'objects contemplated are attained, as hereinafter more fully set forth, pointed out in my claims, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Figure 1 is a sectional view of the holder taken along the lines 11 of Figure 2,

Figure 2 is a plan view of Figure 1, and

Figure 3 is a rear view of a portion of Figure 1.

My invention contemplates the provision of a simple doll holder which will provide means whereby a doll of any size can be placed upon its feet and held in this position, my invention further contemplating further advantages wherein the arrangement can be easily assembled or disassembled, and which can be shipped in a convenient disassembled form.

I have used the character to designate a vertically positioned cylindrical socket, preferably made of a suitable plastic substance, to which socket are attached the radially positioned inclined legs 11 terminating in the portions 12, these legs being preferably spaced equally apart, and I have further used the character 13 to indicate ribs for strengthening the legs, however, it should be specifically understood that other somewhat similar leg structures could be used.

The character 14 indicates a vertically positioned plastic rod having a shoulder at 15 adapted to bear against the top of the socket 10, and I have further used the character 16 to indicate a rubber suction cup, which bears against the lower end of the socket 10 at 17, and which suction cup 16 includes the attached screw 18, which can be screwed into the bottom of the post 14 when the device is assembled.

The post 14 includes a series of vertically and equally spaced transverse slots 19, which slots are narrower at their outer portions 20, and received within any one of the slots 19 is a substantially arcuate spring band 21 having the outwardly curled ends 22, the spring band 21 also including an indented notch 23.

The doll holder is used in the following manner: The

holder is assembled by placing the reduced portion 24 of the suction cup 16 against the socket 10, and next the spring band 21 is placed in any one of the notches 19 consistent with the height of the doll which is to be accommodated, it being noted that these notches will accommodate dolls of varying heights, and of course, for much larger or smaller dolls, different sized units can be made. The band 21 is placed in any one of the notches by placing the indented portion 23 in the band next to the notch so that the band will pass inwardly within the notch, and thence rotating the band slightly until the indented portion 23 appears as shown in Figure 3. Next the doll is placed within the band 21 by slightly spreading the band at 22 if necessary, with the band then lying slightly beneath the armpits of the doll as shown.

It will be specifically noted from the foregoing that the feet 25 of the doll (see Figure 2) will be positioned substantially within the circular area lying within the circle described by the ends of the feet 11, this feature insuring extra stability to the holder since the feet and a portion of the weight of the doll will tend to greatly increase the said stability so that it will be relatively more difficult to overturn the structure. The suction cup 16 can be used on smooth surfaces, or need not be used on other surfaces where it might not adhere, such as rugs, etc.

It will now be noted that I have provided the various advantages mentioned in the objects of my invention with further advantages being apparent.

Some changes may be made in the construction and arrangement of the parts of my invention without departing from the real spirit and purpose of my invention, and it is my intention to cover by my claims any modified forms of structure or use of mechanical equivalents which may be reasonably included within their scope.

I claim as my invention:

1. A doll holder comprising a base, said base including a plurality of radially positioned legs, the space between a pair of said legs providing means for a dolls feet to be received there-between, a vertically positioned post attached to said base, means for attaching a portion of a doll to said post, said attaching means including a plurality of vertically spaced transverse slots in said post, a substantially arcuate resilient band received in one of said slots, said slots providing means whereby dolls of different heights can be held.

2. A doll holder comprising a base, said base including a plurality of radially positioned legs, the space between a pair of said legs providing means for a dolls feet to be received there-between, a vertically positioned post attached to said base, means for attaching a portion of a doll to said post, said attaching means including a plurality of vertically spaced transverse slots in said post, a substantially arcuate resilient band received in one of said slots, said slots providing means whereby dolls of different heights can be held, said slots being of lesser widths at the periphery of said post, said resilient band having a cut-out portion to receive said reduced slot portion.
