Description

Feb. 7, 1956 FORREST 2,496,527
BOTTLE HOLDER Filed Aug. 23, 1946 INVENTOR gr BY ATTORNEY Patented Feb. 7, 1950 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE BOTTLE HOLDER Ruth Forrest, Houston, Tex.
Application August 23, 1946, Serial No. 692,437
1 Claim.
This invention relates to a bottle holder.
An object of the present invention is to provide a nursing bottle holder by means of which the bottle may be held suspended in a convenient position for use.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a holder of the character described which will be flexible so as to allow the bottle to yield while being used.
It is a further object of the invention to provide a holder that may be readily adjusted as to width.
Other objects will be apparent from the following specification which is illustrated by the accompanying drawings wherein:
Figure 1 is a front perspective view of the holder in use.
Figure 2 is a rear perspective view and,
Figure 3 is an enlarged fragmentary view of the cross supports.
Referring now more particularly to the drawings wherein like numerals of reference designate the same parts in each of the figures, the numerals l, l designate the end supports.
Each support is formed of a longitudinal base preferably formed of tubing of any suitable material.
As shown the ends of the base are retracted in the vertical plane of the base and th retracted portions are extended on upwardly forming the front and rear side bars 3 and 4 which are substantially parallel.
The upper ends of these side bars are inwardly turned and secured to said ends are the reduced spindles 5, 5 and 6, 6 respectively.
The spindles 5, 5 are in transverse alignment and this is also true of the spindles 6, 6.
There are the front and rear tubular sleeves 'l and 8 into which the corresponding spindles are telescoped.
The spindles 5, 5 and the corresponding sleeve 1 forms a cross support on which the anchor rings 9, 9 are slidable.
The numeral I0 designates a suitable bottle clamp which clamps and holds the bottle I I.
Flexible tie members, such as chains l2, l2,
2 are connected, at their upper ends to the rings 9 and, at their lower ends, to eyes as [3, l3, one on each side of the clamp Ill.
As is shown in full lines in Figures 1 and 2 the nursing bottle I I is held in a central elevated position and the holder is adjusted to its full width; also the bottle is shown, in dotted lines in Figure 2, at one side of the support in convenient position for the infant while using the bottle.
Also in Figure 2 the holder is shown adjusted to its extreme width although it may, if desired, be adjusted to a narrower Width as the circumstances may require.
The drawings and description are illustrative merely while the broad principle of the invention will be defined by the appended claim.
What I claim is:
A bottle holder comprising, spaced end supports, each support being composed of a base whose ends are retracted in the vertical plane of the base, upwardly extending side bars forming continuations of said retracted ends and whose upper ends are inwardly turned, spindles whose outer ends are connected to said inwardly turned ends, approximately parallel cross rods whose ends are telescoped with said spindles thus forming cross supports, a pair of anchors slidable on one of said cross supports, a bottle holder and flexible tie members connected at their upper ends to said anchors and at their lower ends to said holder.
RUTH FORREST.
