PUTFTY REMOVlNG KNIFE v Filed Sept. 12, 1942 Patented June 22, 1943 UNITED STATES PATENT oFElCE,
PUTTY REMOVING KNIFE Herman Hirschhorn, New Rochelle, N. Y.

1 Claim.
The invention relates to improvements in putty removing knives in which a sharp edged knife is used to remove hard putty; and the objects of the improvement are, rst, to provide a sharp edged knife that will greatly reduce the eiort of removing hard putty; second, to provide a sharp edged knife that must be held in such a position that Worker can not injure knuckles.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which the entire knife is shown in a side view.
The handle I and blade 2 constitute the entire knife.
. Blade 2 has one longitudinal edge DF, in line with the center of the handle and a second 1ongitudinal edge CE, parallel to the rst and offset to one side of the handle, the two longitudinal edges are not sharpened.
The end edge BD is sharpened, and is approximately on a 135 degree angle to longitudinal edge DF.
Edge BC is not sharpened; edge BC is on a 165 degree angle to second longitudinal edge CE, and on a 60 degree angle to sharp edge BD, edge BC meets secondv longitudinal edge CE approximately at point C.
I am aware that prior to my invention putty removing knives have been made with tapered longitudinal edges and a sharp edge perpendicular to center line of blade. I therefore do not claim such a combination broadly; but I claim:
A putty removing knife comprising an elongated blade and handle in which said blade has one longitudinal edge in line With the center of the handle and a second longitudinal edge parallel to said rst longitudinal edge and a sharp terminal edge making an obtuse angle with said rst edge and ending in a 60 degree point.
