Abstract

A picture puzzle wherein each part of the puzzle is constructed by the user to form a plurality of elongated pieces and a rectangular box, each elongated piece having a plurality of sides presenting a segment of a picture on each side, the puzzle pieces then seated in a rectangular box adapted to hold said pieces in a contiguous relationship with selective sides of said pieces in a face-up relationship so that when all the sides are aligned in a grooved base created from some of the pieces, all of the segments of the full picture face upwardly and are in contiguous relationship with each other, thereby forming a full picture. Differing sides of the pieces may be then aligned contiguously and in face-up fashion, so that six (6) different pictures may be constructed.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to the construction by a puzzle user of a picture puzzle game comprised of a plurality of equilateral and equal-sized triangular tubes, some of which are used to form a grooved base at the bottom of a rectangular box and the balance of the tubes aligned side-by-side in the grooved base.
  • The object of the puzzle game is for the user to construct from preprinted cards thirteen (13) equilateral triangular tubes and one (1) rectangular box and then position the equilateral triangular tubes in such a manner that the user creates six (6) different full pictures.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY
  • The present invention is directed to the class of a picture puzzle game whereby the object of the game is for the user to construct thirteen (13) equilateral triangular tubes and one (1) rectangular box so that the user can form a full picture by fitting six (6) equilateral triangular tubes into six (6) grooves created by the remaining seven (7) equilateral triangular tubes that are placed alongside each other at the bottom of a rectangular box.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a plan view of front face of one (1) of thirteen (13) cards equal in length and width and scored into four (4) equal parts (A), three parts of which are imprinted with segments of six (6) different pictures and an end segment un-imprinted (B).
  • FIG. 2 is a plan view of the un-imprinted back of one of the thirteen (13) cards with a glue strip (C) attached to the back of the end segment (D) of the card which segment is imprinted on the front of the card.
  • FIG. 3 is a plan view of one (1) of the imprinted and scored cards illustrating the un-imprinted end segment (B) being folded inward at the scorings (A-1) with the fourth imprinted end segment of the face of the card (D) folded over and glued to the outside of the un-imprinted segment of the face of the card (B) forming an equilateral triangular tube (FIG. 4).
  • FIG. 4 is a plan view of one (1) constructed equilateral triangular tube.
  • FIG. 5 is a plan view of an un-imprinted card of dimensions that when folded into a rectangular box is sized to accommodate seven (7) equilateral triangular tubes forming the grooved base for the picture puzzle. The card is scored (E) and cut (F) at various designated areas allowing the corners, also scored and cut, to be folded at the sides into a box shape and creating corner flaps for gluing the sides into an upright position, thereby creating a rectangular box.
  • FIG. 6 is a plan view of the constructed rectangular box.
  • FIG. 7 is a plan view of seven (7) imprinted equilateral triangular tubes lying contiguously alongside each other forming a grooved base of six (6) Grooves (G) at the bottom of the rectangular box.
  • FIG. 8 is a plan view of four (4) imprinted equilateral triangular tubes (H) seated in four (4) of the grooves in the grooved base awaiting two (2) remaining tubes to complete the picture (FIG. 9).
  • FIG. 9 is a plan view of two (2) imprinted equilateral triangular tubes awaiting placement in the remaining open grooves (FIG. 8), thereby completing one (1) of six (6) pictures.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
  • The invention relates to a rectangular, multi-picture puzzle that serves for the amusement of the user. It is constructed by the user from thirteen (13) flat 3″×5″ cards that have been imprinted with partial picture images of six (6) different pictures. Each card is subdivided into four (4) equal parts by scored lines which enable the user to fold and glue each card and thereby assemble thirteen (13) equilateral triangular tubes. Another scored flat card of 7⅛″×7¾″ is then constructed and glued by the user to form a rectangular box. Of the thirteen (13) equilateral triangular tubes of equal dimensions, six (6) of the equilateral triangular tubes will have each three (3) sides imprinted with segments of three (3)) full pictures. The remaining seven (7) equilateral triangular tubes will also have each of their three (3) sides imprinted with segments of three (3) other full pictures. Therefore each of the thirty-nine (39) sides of the thirteen (13)) equilateral triangular tubes displays a different slice of a full picture. Each segment of a full picture that is imprinted on one (1) of the sides of the equilateral triangular tube must originate from six (6) different pictures. so that when six (6) tubes are properly positioned alongside each other in the grooved base, a full picture is created. The grooved base is formed by laying seven (7) triangular tubes inside the rectangular box.
  • The face-up sides of each triangular tube when matched-up with the face-up sides of the adjoining tubes and positioned properly, presents a flat surface creating a full picture. After completing one full picture, the user repositions the thirteen (13) imprinted triangular tubes (those seated in the grooves and those making up the groove base) so that the face-up sides of the adjoining triangular tubes form another complete picture and eventually will display one at a time, six (6) full and different pictures.

Claims (4)

1. An article of invention consisting of various pre-created cards and then constructed by the user thereby forming one (1) rectangular box and thirteen (13) elongated equilateral triangular tubes with each tube having three (3) faces imprinted in a predetermined manner so that when all the elongated tubes are arranged side-by-side with their longitudinal axis in parallel with each other, each piece laid firmly in the grooved recesses of a grooved base of similar angle (60 degrees) and similar dimensions of width and longitude to receive the equilateral triangular tubes, all within a rectangular box accommodating the grooved base.
2. An article according to claim 1. wherein when constructed by the user, each face (side) of the equilateral triangular tube has an imprinted image of a segment of a picture, the three sides having segments of six (6) differing pictures, in color, thereon.
3. An article according to claim 1. wherein the recesses of a grooved base in the rectangular box are also triangular with angles of 60 degrees to receive the elongated equilateral triangular tubes.
4. An article according to claim 1. wherein each of the pre-printed cards to be constructed by the user into equilateral triangular tubes and a rectangular box can be manufactured from either cardboard, plastic or wood.
