This invention relates to improvements in a hand cover, and its objects are to provide a device adapted to cover the hand and wrist, but which has no finger portion, thereby leaving the I fingers free for Working.
The device is adapted for use as a glove, or to protect the back of the hand from dust and cold, or from sun-burn.
A practical embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing.
In the drawing: Figure 1 is a rear elevation of the hand cover. Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the hand cover, Fig. 3 is an end elevation of the hand cover.
The body portion 4 is adapted to cover the back of the hand and to protect the same from dust, cold or sun-burn. An integral portion 5 extends from the back portion 4, and is adapted to protect the wrist. The device may be made of any suitable material such as paper, cloth, or leather.
As shown in the drawing, the device has a back or outside portion. of heavy cloth, and an inner portion, or lining 6, of smooth cloth. Loop 7, adapted to engage with one finger of the hand, is preferably made of elastic cloth fibre, and the wrist band 8 is made of the same material. Band 8 is adapted to encircle the wrist, and then is secured by fasteners 9, one of which will engage with fastener socket 10. Other fasteners 11 may engage with fastener sockets 12 to further secure the device to the hand. Any style of fasteners such as snap buttons and hooks may be considered the equivalent of the fasteners shown.
I claim:
1. A hand cover, comprising a body portion to cover the back of the hand, a sleeve portion integral with the body portion, an elastic band to encircle the wrist and secure the sleeve portion, and an elastic loop on the inner side of the body portion.
2. A hand cover, comprising a body portion without fingers and to cover the back of the hand, a sleeve portion integral with the body portion and to extend over the wrist, an elastic loop on the inner side of the body portion and to engage with a finger of the hand, and an elastic band extending from one flap of the sleeve portion to encircle the wrist, and fasteners on the end of the elastic band and sleeve portion.
