HEADLIGHT Filed July 26, 1932 John Ma 0/4307? INVENTDR ATTORN EV Patented Sept. 26, 1933 1,928,564 HEADLIGHT John Jackson, Warren, Ohio Application July 26, 1932. Serial No. 624,830
7 1 Claim.
This invention relates to headlights and has for the primary object, the provision of a device of the above stated character which is so constructed as to reflect light rays therefrom capable of illuminating a maximum distance without substantial glare.
With this and other objects in view, this invention consists'in certainnove'l features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fullydescribed and claimed.
For a complete understanding or" my invention, reference is to be had to thelfollowing description and accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a front elevation illustrating a headlight constructed in accordance with my invention. i
Figure 2 is, a sectional view taken on the line 2-2 of Figure 1. o
Figure 3 is a fragmentary sectional view taken on the line 33 of Figure 2.
Figure l is a plan view illustrating a supporting bracket.
Referring in detail to the drawing, the numeral 1 indicates a tubular casing having mounted therein spaced rings 2, oneof which is detachably secured to the casing as shown at 3 and provided with an annular flange i. The rings 2 form seats for lenses 5. The casing 1 between the lenses is mirrored'to provide cylindrical reflecting surfaces. A hood 6 is detachably secured in one end of the casing land is provided with a flange 7 to force a gasket 8 against one of the lenses. The other lens is forced against the gasket 9 which in turn bears against the flange 4: by a spacing'ring 10 engaged by a reflector 11; -The reflector 11 carries an annular collar l2threaded in the casing 1.
The reflector 11 supports an electric lamp' l4.- inv wardly from the brackets within the casing and: converge toward each other as shown in Figure 1.
While I have shown and described the preferred. embodiment of my invention, it will be .ward each other and containing liquid.
' JO-HN JACKSON.
