Abstract
325,308. Crisp, H. V. Nov. 26, 1928. Shade and reflector holders; securing shades and reflectors to holders.-In a lamp shade or reflector holder comprising two telescopic cylindrical members whereby the shade or reflector is axially adjustable with respect to an electric lamp bulb for focussing and removal purposes, one member a, preferably the one mounted on the lamp holder c, is provided with vertical recesses e spaced along one side of oblique or helicoidal slots d which are open at the bottom of the member a for the entry of pins or bosses ! i which project radially from the other member b and are adapted to move along the slots and engage in any desired set of recesses. The recesses may be marked to indicate the size of bulbs for which they are respectively appropriate. If the member a is flanged as at a<1>, the slots d extend into the flange. The member b is held in position by means of a coiled spring which rests on, and is retained in position by, a loose sliding ring k having radially projecting pins working in vertical slots m in the member a, the ring k being flanged to act as a light shield for the slots d, m. The shade or reflector f is secured to the gallery portion b<1> of the member b by means of two fixed pins and a bolt h.
