1 LATHERING BRUSH Filed April 14, 1930 wuamtoz 7 1551215 flied/lander Patented June 16, 1931 UNITED STATES- HANS FRIEDLAN'DER,
OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
LATHERING BRUSH Application filed April 14,
This invention relates to improvements in shaving brushes, and it is the principal object of the invention to provide a shaving brush which may be readily attached to the nipple of a collapsible tube or container for a shaving cream, soap, paste, lotion, etc.
Another object of my invention is the pro-- vision of a shaving brush of simple and therefore inexpensive construction, yet durable and efficient in operation.
A further object of my invention is the provision of a shaving brush adapted to be readily combined with a collapsible tube for a shaving cream and provided with a distrib-- uting nozzle within the brush allowing a uniform distribution of the cream and the working up of a suitable lather when moistened with water.
. A still further object of my invention is the provision of a shaving brush equipped with a cream distributing head which is formed with a central dispensing channel and a plurality of smaller distributing channels branching ofi" from said central channel to en- 5 sure an even distribution of the lather.
These and other objects and advantages of my invention will become more fully known as the description thereof proceeds and will then be specifically defined in the appended claim.
In the accompanying drawingsforming a material part of this disclosure:
Fig. 1 is a front elevation of a shaving brush constructed according to my invention.
Fig. 2 is a view similar to Figure 1 with the brush head in section. and ona somewhat larger scale.
' Fig. 3 is a top plan view of the brush head 4.0 seen in the direction of arrows 33 of Figure 2. V
Fig. 4 is a sectional view of the shaving cream dispensing nipple.
Fig. 5 is a bottom plan view thereof.
As illustrated a collapsible tube 10 or container for a shaving soap or cream has at its lower end a threaded nipple llinto which is screwed a dispensing nozzle 12' forming part of the head 13 of a brush 14.
The dispensing nozzle for the shaving soap 1930. Serial No. 443,985.
or cream, centrally located in the upper end of brush 14 and extending for a suflicient distance therein, has a substantially centrally located dispensing channel 15 from which are branching off a plurality of branch channels .8! 16, suitably grouped about the central channel 15.
The operation of my device will be entirely clear from the above description thereof and the showing on the drawings, and it will be evident, that upon screwing the brush head upon the nipple of the collapsible tube 10 after removal of its customary closing cap, and exerting a pressure agaist the wall of the tube in the usual well known manner, the contents of the tube, a shaving cream, soap or lotion, will be forced ino the distributor nozzle and through the channels thereof into the brush, as indicated in Figure 2, and will be uniformly distributed therein, and if the brush is W'etted a suitable lather can be worked up for application to the skin.
It will be understood that the foregoing description refers to the preferred form of my-device only, and that I may make such changes therein as come within the scope of the appended claims without departure from the spirit of my invention.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
In a device of the character described, a brush head, a distributing nozzle formed with said head in substantially the center thereof, and provided with a neck part having an inner thread to allow the attachment of the brush to the threaded nipple of a shaving cream tube, said distributing nozzle having a larger central channel formed therein with a restricted central diameter, and branch channels branching oil from said central channel to ensure an even and uniform distribution of the cream pressed from the tube into the brush.
In witness whereof I have signed my name to this specification.
.HANS FRIEDLANDER.
