This invention relates to liquid dispensers and has for a particular object the provision of a container adapted, by virtue of a plurality of spaced relatively small discharge 5 tubes, to evenly dispense and distribute a I when the cup istilted. I illustrate flange 12 liquid over a given area.
In dispensing soaps and 011s for scalp treatments and the like in barber and beauty shops, for instance, it has heretofore been 1o customary to dispense such liquids from a bottle having a single discharge orifice, or by pouring the liquid from a cup over the hair and scalp. This practice is wasteful, inconvenient and unsanitary, for the reason that- ,15 it is practically impossible to obtain an even hair without reaching the scalp. By providing a plurality of circumferentially spaced rigid and projecting discharge tubes of relatively small diameter in my device, the operator is enabled to obtain an even flow and distribution of the fluid in a number of relatively small streams, and by placing the discharge end of the tubes beneath the hair and directly over the scalp, the fluid is discharged directly onto the scalp surface. These accomplishments form the more particular objects of my invention.
While it will be obvious that my invention may assume various forms and be adapted to various uses, one form and adaptation which I 1t may assume is that of such a shampoo soap dispenser, and I shall now describe and illustrate it in that particular adaptation, for which purpose I refer to the accompanying drawings, in which:

" Referring now more particularly to the accompanying drawings, the numeral 10 designates the cup-shaped container body, which is preferably cylindrical with a closed bottom end 11 and has a flanged top portion 12 to prevent overflow of the contained. liquid as extending around the entire circumference of top portion of the cup as I. find this structure to aid economy of manufacture, although it will be obvious thatthe flange may only extend around a portion of the cup top adjacent the dispensing tubes to be described.

I provide a plurality'of dispensing tubes 16, constructed of metal or some rigid material through which the liquid is dispensed when the cup is tilted sufficiently for the contained fluid to pass through the tubes. These tubes project substantially horizontally beyond the outer surface ofthe side walls of'the cup a" 70 distance of approximately one inch, although the length of these projections may be changed as desired. The provision of a multiplicity of tubes of small diameter so placed and spaced, enables the user to obtain an even flow and distribution of the fluid, in comparatively small individual streams, directly over the scalp. Thenumber and spacing of the tubes are governed by the area over which the liquid isto be distributed in one ficient and sanitary than can be obtained by] no the old method of pouring say a one-quarter inch stream in one spot over the hair. It is desirable to have the tubes project outwardly from the cup a sufficient distance to enable the discharge ends of the tubes to be buried in the hair so that when the fluid is discharged it is discharged directly upon the scalp surface. Tubes 16 preferably have flanged inner ends 17 which are secured to the inner surface of the cup wall at 18 as by soldering; the tubes projecting through holes 19 in the side walls of the cup. Obviously it is preferable to have the discharge ends of the tubes on a substantially even plane; thus, when the tubes are mounted in a cylindrical body such as cup 10, it is necessary to have the two end tubes of slightly greater length than the two inner tubes, as best shown in Fig. 2.
A handle H is provided at the side of cup 10 in such relative position to the tubes as will enable the operator to pour liquid from the container through the tubes by merely turning the hand to the right.
From the foregoing description it will become apparent that my invention is adaptable to many other uses to equal advantage and I therefore wish it understood that I do not confine its scope to the hereinbcfore described details. Rather it is to be restricted only as appears in the appended claims.
I claim:
1. A liquid container having side walls and a plurality of circumferentially spaced discharge tubes mounted in the side walls, said tubes communicating from the interior to the exterior of the container.
2. A liquid container having side walls and a plurality of circumferentially spaced discharge tubes mounted in the side walls and communicating from the interior to the ex-- terior of the container, said tubes projecting beyond the exterior of the side walls.
3. A liquid container having side walls and a plurality of circumferentially spaced discharge tubes mounted in the side walls and communicating from the interior to the exterior of the container, said tubes projecting substantially horizontally beyond the exterior of the side walls.

A liquid container having substantially vertical side walls and a plurality of circumferentially spaced discharge tubes mounted in the side walls near the top thereof and communicating from the interior to the ex terior of the container, said tubes projecting substantially horizontally beyond the exterior of the side walls.
5. A liquid dispenser comprising: a cup shaped container member having near the top thereof a plurality of horizontally spaced rigid discharge tubes adapted to discharge liquid from the interior to the exterior of the a container, said tubes projecting substantial- ANTHONY MONTALBANO.
