IMPROVEMENT IN CIGAR MOUTH-PIECES.
' Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 169,1 l9, dated October 26, 1875; application filed July 23, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES RErNrsoH, of the city of Newark, Essex county, State of New Jersey, have invented certain Improvements in Cigar Mouth-Pieces, of which the following is a specification:
. The object of my invention is to provide for cheap and light cigar mouth-pieces.
My invention consists in making an improved cigar mouth-piece, the upper part of which, or that part to be held between the teeth, is formed of a goose-quill, which, for
that purpose, is cut squarely off at both ends. The lower part, or that in which the cigar is inserted, consists of a tube of conical form, made of a light material, such as paper, parchment, or other similar fabric. The upper part of this conical tube is made somewhat larger in diameter than the goose-quill, which is selected to form the upper part of the cigar mouth-piece. The lower part of the conical tube is made of suflicient size to allow the same to be placed over the month end of the cigar, and thus firmly hold the cigar. The goose-quill, being inserted into the smaller end of the conical tube, is fastened to the same by aid of a suitable glutinous material.
In order to describe my invention more fully, I refer to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification.
Figure I is a side view of a cigar mouthpiece embodying my invention. Fig. II is a sectional view of the same. Fig. III is a front view of the same.
A is the conical tube, into the smaller end d of which is inserted and fastened the goosequill B. O is acigar inserted into the larger end 0 of the conical tube A.
Having thus described my invention, I desire to claim- As a new article of manufacture, a cigar CHARLES REINISGH. Witnesses:
