Description
April 1927' A. TUFENKJIAN NURSING BOTTLE HOLDER Filed May 14, 1926 WITNESSES I INVENTOR ATTORNEYS Patented Apr. 12, 1927.
- UNirED STATES PATENT OFFICE.

carriage, a bassinet, or the like, whereby the same may be readily shifted and maintained in various positions to eliminate the necessity of manually holding the bottle.
' The invention'furthermore comprehends a nursing bottle support and holder which constit-utes'means for supporting and maintaining the bottle at various inclinations and in which the bottle-holding element is mounted for limited relative sliding movement withrespect to thesuppcrt to compensate for slight changes'in position of the infant while nursing.
The invention furthermore comprehends a nursing bottle support and holder which while facilitating the association and disassociation of the bottle therewith, affords means for positively securing the bottle in place against accidental displacement.
More specifically the invention comprehends a holder and support for nursing bottles, which support includes a lazy tong structure and a base or .attaching member for said structure and with which the structure isrelatively swingable and movable to dispose the holder and the nipple of the bottle in proper relative position to theinfant, together with means carried by the lazy tong structure for retaining the same in an approximately adjusted relation.
The invention furthermore contemplates a nursing bottle support and holder which is comparatively sim le in its construction and mode of use, inexpensive to manufacture, and which is highly efficient in its purpose.
With the above recited and other objects 1n View, reference is had to the following specification and accompanying drawing in which there is exhibited one example or embodiment of the invention which is in no way intended as a limitation upon the scope of the appended claims as it is to be clearly understood that variations and modifications which properly fall within the scope of said claims y be resorted to when found ex pedient. I 1 In the -drawingv Figure 1 is a perspective View of the sup 7 port and holder in applied operative position, and Fig. 2 is a sectional'view therethrough.
' Referring to the drawings by characters of reference, 10 designates a strip of material, preferably sheet metal, the opposite extremities .11 of which are bent into substantially inverted U-shape to fit over the upper side edges of a baby carriage, bas-' sinet, or the like, which is designated in dot-and-dash lines by the reference character A. In order to securely attach the strip in place, set screws 12 are threaded through the extremities 11 for clamping engagement with the upper edges A. The strip 10 constitutes a stationarybase to which a lazytong structure is attached, the same including laterally spaced pairs of cross arms 13-13 and -14L14:. The cross arms are fulcrumed or pivotally connected together on a transverse rod 15. The free terminals of the pairs of cross arms 13-13 and 1%14 are pivotally connected by cross rods 16 and 17 to'links 18--18 and l919, which links in turn are pivotally attached to bearing-elements 20 by pivots 21. The remaining terminals of the cross arms l318 and 14;14L are provided with cross rods 22 and 23 engaged in slots 24 and 25in the spaced parallel side rails 26 of a bottle holder member 27 whereby the holder member is associated with the lazy-tong structure for swinging movement therewith and for relative sliding movement with respect thereto. The bottle holder member further includes a strap or yoke 28 adapted to engage around or embrace the reduced neck portion B of the bottle C and an annulus 29 encompassing the bottom or lower end D of the bottle. A set screw 30 threadedly pro-- jectable through the annulus 29, is adapted to engage over the lowerend of the bot tle tohold the same in the yoke and annulus.
In use, when the device is attached to a baby carriage, bassinet, or the like, it is obvious that the supporting frame maybe distended and swung to dispose the bottle in a proper position for the nursing oper ation, and when so positioned the frame may be locked against movement by a suitable retaining means which, as illustrated, consists ofv an areuate arm 31 pivoted at to one of the cross arms 14 and provided With a slot 33 engaging a suitable set screw 34 in the other arm 14. henthuslocked and extensibly. adjustable supporting frame on said base, a bottle holder carried by, movable With the frame, and having limited. slidable connection therewith, and means for locking, the frame in adjusted relation to-the base, said means consisting of an arcuate slottedv arm pivotally connected to one of the frame members and a set screw on anothier frame member engageable through the slot of the arm for clamping engagee ment with the arm.
2. Av nursing bottle support including an attaching base for attachment to ababy carriage, bassinet, or the like; a sWingably and extensibly adjustable supporting frame on. said base, a bottle holder carried by, movable With the frame, and having limited slidable connection therewith, and means for locking the: frame in. adjusted relation. to the base, said means consisting of an arcuate slotted arm pivotally connected to one of the frame members and a set screw on another frame member engageable through the slot of the arm for clamping engagement with the arm, said bottle holder including bottle-embracing straps for encompassing the neck. and bottom. portions of the bottle.
3., A nursing bottlesupport including an attaching base for attachment to as baby carriage, bassinet, or the, like; a swingably and extensibly adjnstable supporting, fitame on said base, a. bottle holder carried, by, movable with the frame, and having, limited slidable connection therewitli,.means1 for locking the frame in adjnsted'l relation. to the base, said means consisting of an anon.- ate slotted. arm pivotally connected"v to one of the frame members and. a. set. screW on another frame member engageable through the slot of, the arm for clamping engagement With the arm, said bottle holder including bottle-embracing straps forv encompassing, the neck and bottom portionsof the bottle, and means on the botton' 'strapfor engaging; over the bottom of the bottle to removably hold the same in the straps,
