Be it known that L'EMMA Haenianisrnn, a citizen of the United States, and a resident oi" the city ot New York, borough of Manhattan, inthe county and State ot' New York, have invented a new and `improved llair uWaver, oi' which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention relates to a hair Waver, and more particularly to a hair Wave-r employing electrically heated combs movable relatively to each other to impart a wavy iform to the hair.
They general object ol my invention is to provide an electrically heated hair Waver in which the heating elements Jr'or the respective combs are incorporated in the backs of the combs to promote eiiieiency :in the heating olf the combs and to Facilitate the assemblage of theparts.

Similarly, after the movement to the upper end of the oblique portions the rods 19 and 119, contacting With the Walls of the upper portions 17 again makes it evident that the parts have moved a distance represented by the total effective length of the oblique Vportions 18. r1`hus, a movement for a given Wave length is measured by one or other of the slot portions 16, 17, 18 and Whenv the limit 4of such movement has been reached the contact of the rods `With the Walls of` conductors 22 and 122, said conductors'being disposed in the tubular handle bars 15VV and 115 and in the tubular Shanks 20 and 120. 1n the use-of the device, a strand of hair 8 is laid transversely across the ycombs of the several series, as shown in Fig. 1, and it will be readily understood that the longitudinal movement of the heated combs Will give a wavy form to the strand of hair.

A. hair Waver comprising a` frame, series of combs relatively movable' longitudinally in said frame, said frame having transverse rods and said combs having'slots through Whichv said rods extend, saidl slots having' terminal members at different elevations and oblique intermediate portio-ns connecting the terminal members, said terminal and intermediate members ofthe slots constituting distinct gage portions.
