CHARLES A. KAUFFMAN, 0F PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA. i
CALENDAR.
Application led .Tuly 8, 1918.
To (IU who/1t t may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES A. KAUFFMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pittsburgh, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful Improvements in Calendars, of which the following is a specifica-tion.
This invention relates to a calendar and has for its primary object to provide a calendar of such construction that the major portion of the leaves for advertising purposes or for malring memorandums.
An objectof the invention is to construct the leaves in such a manner that the same may readily fold behind the calendar when a particular month should be in an invisible position, with the advantages that the particular sheet may be preserved.
With these and other objects in view the invention will be better understood from the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing wherein:
B Figure 1' is a front View of the calendar.
Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view.
Referring to the drawing which illustrates one form of my invention the numeral 1 designates a plurality of calendar leaves having printed thereon the usual indicia. Each of the Vleaves is provided with an opening 3 all of which are arranged in registration. The opening of the last leaf is closed by a back sheet 4 which is of a shape to correspond to the calendar leaves. The upper edges of the calendar leaves and back sheet are bound together by a clip 5 that Specification of Letters Patent.
thereof may be used p Patented Apr. il, 191MB). serial No. 243,798.
has stamped therefrom a hook 6. This hook 6 is disposed so as to pass through the opening 3 when a calendar leaf is folded to the rear of the calendar as shown in Fig. 2. Thus it will beseen that the leaves are held in an invisible position without lnterfering with the support of the calendar with/the result that memoranda may be preserved as it is not necessary to tear the leaf from the calendar.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing it should be apparent that I provide a calendar of cheap construction by means of which advertising matter may be displayed and memoranda kept `from month to month.
Having described my invention, what I claim is:
l. A calendar comprising a pluralityvof calendar leaves having printed thereon advertising spaces, a clip binding the upper edges of the leaves together and a hook projecting from said clip, each of said leaves being formed with an opening for the passage of said hook when a leaf is folded to the rear.
2. A calendar comprising a plurality of calendar leaves having printed thereon advertising spaces, a back sheet arranged 1n the rear of said calendar leaves, a clip binding the upper edges of the leaves and back sheet together and a hook projecting from said clip, said leaves being formed with an opening for the passage of said hook when the leaves are folded behind 'said back sheet.
In testimony whereof I aiiix my signature.
