IMPROVEMENT IN STEELS FOR vSHARPENING KNIVES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 128,966, dated July 16, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT E. LEE, of Akron, in the county of Summit and State of Ohio, have invented a certain new and Improved Steel for Sharpening Knives; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and complete description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing making part of the same.
SPECIFICATION.
shown in Fig. 2. Said prong is secured in a a handle, B, whereby it is held while being used.
The special purpose of this steel is for sharpening table-cutlery, meat-knives, &c., which is done by drawing the sides ofthe edge of the knife across an angle of the steel, the temper of which is of exceeding hardness, and will therefore shave off the sides of the blade down to a sharp edge.
Claim.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The tapering rectangular knife-Sharpener, and provided with a handle, B, as described, as a new article of manufacture.
