Specification. of Letters Patent.
retention .mty a, iai t.
Application led February 12, 1916. Serial No. 77,844.
To all whom t may concern.'
-Be it known that I, CHARLES BENNECKE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of River Forest, county of Gook, and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Supporting- Brackets, of which the following is a sp'ecification.
My invention relates to improvements in supporting brackets, and has for its object the provision 'of an improved construction of this character especially adapted forl use in kitchens which is simple and convenient in use. Q
The invention consists in the combinations |and arrangements of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
The invention will be best understood by reference to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specication, and in which,
Figure 1 is a vertical section of a bracket embodying my invention shown in position of use on a kitchen sink back,
Figz '2, a 'face view of the same, and
ig. 3, a rear `view of the bracket detached. i
The preferred form of construction, as
illustrated in the drawing, comprises a' bracket member formed from a plate of sheety metal 4 and curved to iit the upper face portion of an ordinary kitchen sink back 5i At its upper end the member 4 is provided with a depending flange 6 which is notched as shown to form teeth 7 to fa.- cilitate insertion behind the sink back. The
lower portion of the member 4 is bent outportion of the member 4, as indicated. 1n.
use the bracket is mounted in position V`by merely inserting the flange 6 behind the upper portion of an ordinary kitchen sink back 5. Thismplaces the soap dish 8 well below the glass support so that there is no danger of contamination of the glass support.
The specic form of construction set forth is a simple, economica and ecient one for the purpose and one which may be readily attached or detached.
vWhile l have illustrated and described the preferred form of constructionA for carrying my invention into e'ect, this is capable of variation and Inodiication Without departing from the spirit of the invention. therefore, do 'not wish to be limited to the precise details of construction set forth, but
desire to avail myself of such variations and modifications as come within the scope of the appended claim.
Having described my invention what l claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: Y
A device of the class described comprising a 'supporting bracket formed from a piece-of sheet metal bent to t the upper face of a sink back or the like, the lower portion of said bracket being formed into a support; a depending flange at the upper end of said bracket ada ted to be inserted behind a sink back; aneth er support secured centrally at the rear to the upper central rear portion of said bracket; and a brace, secured centrallv to the outer bottom portion of saidlast mentioned support and to the upper outer :tace portion of said bracket, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
, CHARLES BENNECKE.
