To all whom t may concern Be it known that I, FRANK X. SANDT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kenosha, in the county of Kenosha and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Suspended ags, of which the following is a speciiication.

The object of this invention is to produce a bag, as, for example, a laundry bag, having means whereby it may be conveniently suspended, opened and closed.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a bag embodying my invention. Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the same. Fig. 3 is a detail perspective view ol" one of the supporting members, and Fig. 4 is a similar' view of a slight modification of said member.

The embodiment herein shown of the invention comprises a receptacle, pocket or bag body 1 formed of any suitable material, as, for example, a textile fabric. rlhe pocket l has a relatively large mouth 2. Two opposite sides of the mouth are hemmed, piped or threaded as shown at 3 to receive the bag-engaging portions of the supporting members 4.

The supporting members 4 are preferably of wire and similar in construction. Each memberb consists of a suspension loop 5 to engage a supporting hook A, a straight sup porting rod 6 Jr`or holding the pocket, and a locking device 7. The rods 6 are sufliciently long so that the mouth 2 vof the pocket may be made of the desired size. The loop 5 may be of any suitable design, being preferably, however, in the form oi' a triangle. The locking device 7 consists of a U-shape bend or hook 8 at one end of the extended loop 5 adapted to receive one 'end of the rod 6. rlhe weight of the pocketupon this supporting rod serves to keep the end of it seated in the bend 8. lf desired, the rod 6 may be offset as shown at a in Fig. 4, to form a protecting shoulder for the hem. The supporting members may also be suitably covered in any desirable manner as shown at Z).

The supporting members 4 are adapted to be suspended side by side upon the hook A, with the locking devices 7 at opposite sides of the pocket.

When anything is to be put in the pocket, the outside supporting member 4 is removed from the hook A and the mouth 2 enlarged by drawing the released supporting member away from the hook. The other member 4 on the hook A now not only supports the pocket, but also participates in holding the mouth 2 distended. To close the pocket, the released supporting member is returned to the hook. To remove the pocket l from the supporting members 4 for cleaning or washing it, the rods G are removed from the hooks 8 and withdrawn from the hems 3.

It will be seen that the supports 4 are readily detachable from the pocket, insure a large opening, and can be cheaply and easily constructed.

I claim as my invention:

l. A bag having, in combination, a pocket having two hems at opposite sides of the mouth, and two triangular supporting members, each member comprising a triangular loop, a straight pocket-engaging rod integral with one end of and extending across said loop and threaded through one of the hems, and a hook integral with the other end of said loop and adapted to removably support the free end of said rod.

2. A bag having, in combination, a pocket having two hems at opposite sides of the mouth, and two supporting members each comprising a loop, a pocketsengaging rod, and a catch adapted to removably support said pocket-engaging rod, said rods being threaded through said hems.

3. A bag having, in combination, a pocket having an open end and provided with devices along opposite edge portions at said end adapted to be engaged by supporting members, and two wholly separate and independent supporting members, each comprising a suspending loop adapted to engage and depend from a. support, and a straight rod attached at one end to said suspending loop and supported at its other end by means of a hook on the opposite side of said loop, the two rods passing through said de- Vices at opposite edge portions of the bag In testimony whereof, I hereunto set my and the bag being` arranged to be opened hand.
