UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
KISS RIGHEY, OF McKEES ROCKS, PENNSYLVANIA.
BED-SPRING.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Kiss RICI-IEY, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at McKees Rocks, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bed-Springs, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to bed springs, and the primary object of my invention is to provide a simple, durable and inexpensive bed spring that can be easily and quickly placed in position upon'a bed frame.
A further object of this invention is to provide bed spring holders that permit of a bed spring being renewed or repaired when the resiliency thereof is impaired.
With the above and other objects in view the invention resides in the novel construe tion, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter specifically described and then claimed.
Reference will now be had to the drawing, wherein Figure 1 is a side elevation of the bed spring as arranged upon a bed frame, Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a portion of the bed spring, and Fig. 3 is a longitudinal sectional view of a portion of the same.
In the drawing the reference numeral 1 denotes a woven wire bed spring that has the ends thereof held by heads, each head Specification of Letters Patent.

comprising two clamping bars 2 and 3. The bar 3 is secured to the bar 2 by a plurality of screws 4 or other fastening means, and connected to the ends of the bar 2 are hookshaped members 5 that are placed in engagement with the posts 6 of a bed frame, whereby the spring will be stretched and the heads supported by the side rails 7 of the bed frame.
It is through the medium of the clamping bars 2 and 3 that the tension of the bed spring 1 can be increased or the spring renewed or repaired.
One embodiment of the invention has been illustrated but it is to be understood that the structural elements are susceptible to such variations and modifications as fall within the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is In a bed spring, clamping heads, each head comprising bars, screws connecting said bars andclamping said bars upon the ends of said spring, and hook-shaped members connected to the ends of one of said bars and adapted to engage the posts of a bed frame for holding said spring thereon.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
