. To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Armaaw J. Ks'rnnsnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Seattle, in the county of King and State of 'ashin tcn, have invented certain new and useful m rovements in Garment Hangers and Strctc lers, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to t e accompanying drawing.

This invention relates to trousers hangers and the principal ob'ect of the. same 15 to improve and simplify angers of this description.

With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in general of certain novel constructions, combinations and arrangements of parts, as will be hereinafter fullydescribed, illustrated in the drawings, and specifically claimed.

In the accompanying drawings, like charactors of reference indicate like parts in the several views, and Figurel is a side elevation of a trousers hanger constructed in accordance with this invention, theparts being shown unfolded. Fig. 2 is a similar view of the parts folded. Fig. 3 is a view from the rear of Fig. 2. v Fig. 4 is a perspective view of a certain bar used in connection herewith. This garment hanger is provided with a head 20, the upper e e of which is curved and provided with a at strip 21 that projects beyond the front of said head. A suspending hook 22 extends through this strip and has its lower end bent at an an le so as to prevent the withdrawal of the 00k. The base of the hanger is composed of a horizontal bar 23 one end whereof is provided with an ofiset abutment 24. The clamping lever 25 has one end pivotally connected to one end of the bar 23 while the other end of said clamping lever fits against the inner end of the abutment and is held in position by a ring 26 which slides over the lever 25 to retain the bar and lever in clampin relation. The head and base are connecte by a system of toggle levers or lazy tongs 27 which are held'together to rotate about the pivot pins 28. On one of the pivot pins 28 t ere is also pivoted a locking arm 29 having a series of perforations 30 in its free end; on the joint opposite that to which this armis pivoted the rivet carries a projectin end 31 adapted to be received in one'of t e openings 30 to adjust the device and hold the same when so adjusted. The upper-most central "oint of the system is likewise rovided wit a projecting end 32 on the rivet thus enabling the device to be locked in folded position y the engagement of one of the openings 30 with such projectin end.

As can e seen by reference to Fig. 3 there is provided a locking arm 33 ivoted at one en adjacent one end of the sad while its other end is received in a clip 34 when the arm is in locked position.

When it is desired to use the device as a skirt holder the base construction is varied by extending the same in length and providin along :1 ar 35 a series of spring clips 36.

There has thus been rovided a simple and eflicient device of t e kind described and for the pur ose specified.
