Целью изобретения является повышение качества металла за счет обработки его в изложнице углеродсодержащей смесью. Смесь состоит из антрацита и хлористого натрия в соотношении (20-5):1, причем максимальные размеры частиц хлористого натрия не превышают 300 мкм, а антрацита 150 мкм. В процессе разливки полуспокойной стали в изложницу, после наполнения ее на 2/3 высоты, вводят смесь в количестве 0,001-0,005% от массы слитка. При этом в головной части слитка резко увеличивается количество центров газообразования, что приводит к интенсивному и равномерному перемешиванию и кипению металла в верхней части, снижению содержания вредных примесей, улучшению кристаллической структуры слитков. Использование смеси позволяет улучшить качество слитка и повысить выход годного металла в прокате на 0,3%.The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, in particular to the processing of liquid metal during casting into molds. At the same time, the number of gassing centers in the head of the ingot sharply increases, which leads to intensive and uniform mixing and boiling of the metal in the upper part, a decrease in the content of harmful impurities, and an improvement in the crystal structure of the ingots. The use of the mixture allows improving the quality of the ingot and increasing the yield of good metal in rolled products by 0.3%.
