Abstract

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a highly reliable chip-type common-mode choke coil for preventing the deterioration of a breakdown voltage or the failure of insulation or the generation of short-circuit when a coil terminal is drawn near to or brought into contact with an adjacent electrode. The invented chip-type common-mode choke coil is composed of the followings: a winding core portion 1; flange portions 1, 2, where a plurality of leg-shaped electrode sections are formed with predetermined intervals through the winding core portion; and specific electrode portions 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, which are wound around the winding core portion to connect the starting terminal of winding and the ending terminal of winding. The recessed portions 6a, 6b are formed on the both side faces of the winding core portion with its longitudinal direction as an axis, are shifted in the longitudinal direction so as to be made unsymmetrical to each other.
