Optik fiber seritler, radyasyonla islenmis kapsülleme malzemesi içinde kapsüllenmis en az iki optik fiber alt birim seridinden olusur. Rasyasyonla islenmis kapsülleme malzemesi, alt birim seritlerinin, kapsülleme malzemesi elle yirtilarak ayrilmalarini saglar ve optik fiber seridin bükülmesiyle alt birim seritlerine yapisir. Radyasyonla islenmis kapsülleme malzemesi tercihen yaklasik 2.20 pound kuvvetin altinda bir yirtilma direncine ve yaklasik 0.0044 pound kuvvetin üzerinde bir alttaki yüzeye yapisma kuvvetine sahiptir.
