Description
The invention relates to the metallurgy of continuous casting, in particular to methods for semi-continuous casting of cast iron pipes.
[1] .A known method of semi-continuous casting of cast iron pipes, including the supply of molten metal through a rotating sprue bowl into the annular cavity between the outer and inner molds, as well as a water-cooled bell and the socket rod. In this case, a reciprocating movement of the external mold is carried out with an amplitude of 710 mm and a frequency of 45-120 cycles per minute [1].
The disadvantage of this method is that low-frequency' shaking of the mold is ineffective for eliminating such types of pipe defects as weights, hot cracks, tearing of the crust and non-slit.
The purpose of the invention is to ensure process stability and improve 25 pipe quality.
1 масштабе .This goal is achieved by the fact that the crystallized metal is subjected to ultrasonic vibrations, while the vibration frequency 30 along the height of the solid-liquid phase of the formed pipe is equal to an integer number of quarters of waves, the vibration unit is at the metal level, and the integer number of half-waves of vibrations falls on the pipe perimeter. Such a distribution of ultrasonic vibrations is provided at an amplitude of 3-15 μm in the frequency range from 8 to 50 kHz. 10 in FIG. 1 shows a diagram of semi-continuous pipe molding using ultrasound; in FIG. 2 is a diagram of the distribution of vibrational displacements along the external crystallizer15 of the torus, in the corresponding FIG. 1 scale.
The liquid metal 1 from the casting ladle 2 is poured through the gutter 3 into the sprue bowl 4, from which the pop 20 gives into the cavity 5 between the inner 6 and the outer. 7 molds, as well as water-cooled bell 8 and its rod 9. In the process of liquid metal entering the cavity 5, the external mold 7 is subjected to ultrasonic vibrations from electromechanical transducers 10 located in the mold section corresponding to the junction of crystallization fronts of the cast pipe. In this case, bending vibrations occur at the excitation frequency in the crystallizer wall, which is selected in such a way that at least one oscillation antinode (maximum amplitude, Fig. 2) falls on the solid-liquid zone, and the vibration unit (amplitude equals Ό). Electromechanical converters are installed along the perimeter of the external crystallizer at a distance from each other that is a multiple of half the wavelength. After the solidification of the metal in the socket part and reaching a certain level of metal in the mold, the hardening 1 pipe is removed with the help of grippers 11 located on the movable table 12. The action of elastic vibrations on the hardened casting from the junction of the crystallization fronts to the metal level in the mold 20 leads to eliminate the transcrystalline zone and grinding the cast structure of the pipe, and also leads to an increase in the fluidity of cast iron, and, consequently, an improvement in the quality of the surface of the pipe. In addition, the ultrasonic effect reduces the coefficient of friction when pulling the pipe.
The proposed method was pilot tested at the Sinarsky Pipe Plant. During semi-continuous casting of cast iron pipes, three PMS-15 transducers were exposed to the external crystallizer at an oscillation amplitude of 10 μm with a frequency of 21.2 kHz in the cross-section of the mold, with a softlight connecting the crystallization fronts.
In the casting process, the pulling forces are reduced by 20-40%. In addition, the quality of the cast structure and surface of the pipes has been significantly improved.
